As I recall, they were very well built and well thought of in the 70s. They weren't particularly known as race boats, but rather higher end family ski boats.;)

My friend has a 21 FT Miller. Its a really good built boat. It has a mild built 454 with trough transon exhaust, anda droop with diverter. It runs about 70mph. It has a lot of room and rides like a Cadailac.

Brian that works for me had one. We moved the pump back and put a stage II Hi-Tech Jet Boat Cam and an Edelbrock Performer intake on his otherwise stock 460 Ford and it ran right abound 80 MPH. It had a snoot and a diverter too. Good Boat!

If it has a day cabin on it and a jacuzzi pump, it is our 21' Day cruiser, probably one of the last ones we built. If it has a bubble deck, it is our 20' Mini cruiser which we designed in 1977. We fazed the 21' out around 1977 or 78'. We designed and started building the Miller 21' day cruiser in 1973.

No doubt it would be cool. Thats why I started the page after HB deleted the original post. Other than the slamming in the original there was some good information.

Do any of you know anything about the picture posted in the "image center" by an user named "ryan"? The picture was titled "green machine miller jet". I think that may have been my boat.

Ryan is my son Ryan Miller. He is in my lap in the picture posted, my dad is in the drivers seat. We built it in 1974 as a demo and kept it for a few years. Don't remember who bought it from us.

Glad to find something on miller boats. We purchased a 1974 21 ft mini bubble deck with a jacuzzi pump and now has a small block. When we bought it we spent 3 weeks trying to figure out who built it. I was beginning to think i had the only one left and they are a realy slick piece

John, Is that the only ski-jet you built in those colors? If it is than that was my boat. I bought it from Mike McVicar of Jeffers Muffler in Lompoc. I believe he had David Miller recoat it sometime in the 80's. I also remember that it was built slightly different than other ski-jets (fewer bulkheads, lighter hull and such). With the motor out I could take the hull off the trailer myself.;)

It must be the same boat, I don't remember building another one the same color which was big bad green with dark green metalflake. Boat had a Jacuzzi pump with an LS7/454 tunnel ram with 2 fours. Yes, the boat was laid up lighter than normal. Serial number on transom should show it to be a 73 or 74. Because the boat was a demo, there were no CF numbers issued till we sold the boat, so your DMV registration for the boat would only go back to the year we sold it, however, it should display model year correctly.

Yes that is the one, I believe it was registered as a 73. When I bought it the Jacuzzi was still there but it had a 455 olds with an Offenhauser tunnel ram and a single 850. I actually sold the boat to a high school buddy of mine in 99. He lives in Santa Ynez. He just sold it last winter to some engine shop guy down there. I saw it at Nacimiento three times this summer. I had it repainted but I stuck with lots of green. I will post some pics of it tommorow

I don’t know what they came with on your year but mine had a sticker just in front of the fuel fill. Jim Miller had some last time I checked. He gave me a couple for my boat last time I was up there. Give him a call

My dad bought a used 20' Miller in about '95, we used the boat for one season and loved it!! The only downside to the boat was that it held only 35(ish) gallons of gas, which proved to be troublesome at Lake Powell, as we like to do long boat rides. I hope to buy a boat for myself pretty soon and would love to find a clean 20' Miller, for the size, it rode very nicely and had extremely smooth lines, and seemed to be a pretty fast hull with moderate power...... Over all, a quality boat.
