Need to locate a V-6 engine block for a 4.3 Chev[Volvo} It's in a 89 Sunrunner,Volvo-Penta Duo-prop. Just need the block and of course, don't want to overspend!! Thanks!!!! T.R.C.

I thought that all blocks, automotive/marine and volvo/merc are virtually the same. If that's true, than any salvage yard is going to have gobs of used automotive 4.3 blocks sitting around that should work fine.

Miss Rita...Thanks for the reply! I kind'a thought that was the case..but did'nt know for sure. Also wanted to re-use the internals from the old motor because it had low hours. T.R.C.

i'm not a mechanic,at least not marine, but don't you have to use all brass gaskets for intakes ,heads and soforth? frown

I believe you may need a lot of new internal parts. You can re-use a lot of the hang on parts, ie the manifolds, alternator, starter, carb etc. Now would be your chance to bore it a out a smidge for a little more torque!
