Drive Showers?

I have a new ULtra 21 stealth, with alpha one drive. Was wondering which drive shower would be recommended? Everyone claims theres cools the best.

Got the one from Eddie Marine, seems to be working fine on my bravo 3. I think as long as you get one, you'll be fine, and you'll defintiely be better off than the guy that does not have one.

I am using a Simrek Corp. multiport drive
shower. It works as designed..I can attest
to that. I had a friend drive my boat while
I held on to the swim platform at various
speeds (smooth water!) and different drive
angles. It literally pours water all over the
drive. Simrek advertises in the back of the
major boat mags (Hot Boat for one) or you
can check out their website: http://www.driveshowers.com
A while back there was a magazine test (I
forget which mag) and they used temp gauges
to see how much cooling the Simrek brand
provided and it does work as advertised.

jmelton, if your running an alpha drive and a small block, I don't think you really need a driver shower. Unless you run your boat on plane at WOT for hours on end, it's not going to do anything for you. On our old boat (no drive shower) lasted 20 years with an alpha and small block no problems. As a matter of fact I'm not really convinced they do much unless your running really high horsepower applications that generate alot of heat in the upper gear case. For most river cruising they are not needed, but they do look cool http://free.***boat.net/ubb/smile.gif.

i used the imco one that bolts to the top of the outdrive.it didn't work for shit i dont know if it was because it was a cat or what but i will never buy another one.

i made a mistake,my shower was the eddie marine shower and it sucks.at least on my cat it did.looked over the back of the boat at many different speeds and zero water comes out.

As for what an Alpha drive needs, if you
are running a stout (230HP or more) SB then
an Alpha drive should have a shower. They
are more prone to heating up quicker and
get hotter than a Bravo believe it or not.
