My step son TJ Carlson who is in Qatar with the Air Force flies into
Bahgdad almost daily. He sent me this picture which was taken
there. I would like to share it with you.
While I realize that most of us are a bunch of loud mouthed, beer
drinking, hot rod driving, trash talking-hot boat freaks--I also know that deep
down inside all of us there is a spot in our souls that gets a bit
weak kneed when thinking about our country, our freedom, our
patriotism and especially our people. Especially those that lay it
on the line for US.
I would encourage everybody to read the post by Havasu Cig
which asks us to lend a helping hand to the service men and women in Iraq. Yesterday while in Las Vegas we were eating at Planet Hollywood when the phone rings, it was TJ. He said that most of the guys over there live in tents and they're bored when they're not working. Due to Muslim rules and traditions, most of
the soldiers and airmen stay close to home base so there's not much to do. He indicated that they do have access to US phone lines and the internet. They're risking their lives daily, I think the least that we can do is send a few packages to them to cheer them up!
At this time of year, I hope that we have it in our hearts to remember them in our prayers and to send them some encouragement!

Gave me chills. I didn't realize it at first but the "9-11" in the pic is made from Rifles with helmets on the butts, a symbol for a fallen soldier. Powerful

Also, most peeps on here are deeply patriotic.
My cousin is celebrating Christmas at home after being in Iraq.
My thoughts and prayers for those that still have loved ones over seas.

Thanks Keith, I'm sure there are a few folks that post on this board that are over in Iraq right now (Red Horse) and whose (sp) spirits are lifted by this thread:)

I have a nephew in the 82nd air borne over in Bagdad. He is suppose to come home in February, but my other nephew who is in the Marines will be going over there in February. I'll never forget what our troops are doing for us. I pray every night for our troops to come home safely. God bless all of them and their familys.
Keith, God bless your son for everthing he has and will do for our Country. :)
