View Full Version : My turn for a prayer request
Tomorrow at 5 AM my Dad will undergo surgery for stomach cancer. The operation will last twelve hours, which has me greatly concerned. That's a long time to be under anesthetic.
The prognosis is hopeful; the cancer was detected early and he is having the surgery at M. D. Anderson in Houston, one of the top hospitals in the world for this sort of thing. I ask for my online friends to pray for a successful outcome.
Thanks.

Sounds like hes in good hands, but your right 12 hours is a long time....
We hope for the best.

I will be thinking about you and your dad. My mom got cancer, did chimo and radiation treatment and so far, so good. I'm sure your dad is in good hands. I know it can feel like a heavy load for you to carry, but rest assured that there are others that have endured it as well. If you need anything, PM me.

You got it. He is in very good hands at MD Anderson. My father had colon surgery there last month. It was also a very long surgery but all went well.

Its in the lords... hands and all you can do is prey,...i believe that prayer "is"the most powerful thing that we as human beings have, i could tell you of a situation that my wife and i went through during the labor (26 hrs)of our daughter, but that would take a bit! all i can do is send a prayer your fathers way and say,...he could not be in better hands!! for sure!!the Griggs family

I'm going to bed now, after a night that was alternating between "cool, I can handle this" and "oh shit, what if something goes wrong?" modes.
I can't tell you how much your support has helped. RiverKitty, your eloquent statement of understanding brought tears to my eyes.
Thanks to all of you, friends brought together by a common bond. I appreciate your concern and understanding.
Faith is everthing, manny prayers are with you and yours.

There's amazing power in prayer, positive thoughts, and well wishes...even from a bunch of hooligans like us. Count my prayers for your dad in to.
