I went up to the boat show again yesterday. Props to Dave, he was able to change my drive to the XR at the last second. It was going to shipped on Monday from the factory. I don't think I'm going to wait for the full 1 year for the warranty to run out before I get the whipple or pro charger on. I have to stay away form the boat show, it's costing me way to much cash

UnionJack
01-31-2004, 08:48 PM
Going to the river this sat, to take the boat back home...

CEO
01-31-2004, 08:58 PM

Ceo those pics look great, I like seeing the build process it's alot similar to my experience. I tell you what though, watching the build process was a pain in the ass. I just wanted it done. I'm excited for you bro. Keep the progress pics coming.

CEO, boat looks great...couple questions...
Where they have the speaker cutout's taped the gunnels near driver and passenger...is that where they are going to place them? Looks they would have a tight fit, but if they do, that would the ticket up that high...
Also, on the left I see the ICE Chest cutout underneith on the left, but left open on the right....What are doing on the right? Just leaving it open for storage?

CEO
02-06-2004, 05:37 PM
Good eye there Mike. Yes the speakers are going in near the top and once again, Yes it will be tight. The passenger side was going to have a chair underneath there, but it caused to many complications. I would have had to go to one woofer @ 1000w, instead of 2-500w. So I told them to F' the seat and give me the 2-500w woofers, if you noticed they made custom ported boxes for those guys, it should bump hard if I want them to.
Right again we are going to carpet that area so we could put 2 soft Ice Chests and other goodies under there. Also they reworked the bulkhead on the front of the sponses, so we will have a tear away cushion for more storage. I'm trying to get an SUV inside a Volkswagon.
Thanks Sandbar, the only pain in ass thing is the drive down to El Cajon. You can't just swing by when you have a minute. I finally got a storage place London Bridge storage. Anyone have any good or bad things to say about London Bridge Storage??

mbrown2
02-06-2004, 06:04 PM
That's great.......that high placement setup should be the ticket..
Also, I heard that ported box setup in another boat and it hit good...I could not do it since the F26 open bow is wider and it would not allow for the box size...oh'well..can't have everything..

I was at DCB this am., and I just missed Mikes boat. It just left before I got there. I really wanted to check that thing out, but I guess I will have to do it at the river!

CEO
02-23-2004, 10:22 PM
I was at DCB checking out the progress on my rig, shit I think that all the other boats that were in the rigging area and the mold were all 29s and 34s. That is some big game going in at DCB

That same thing baffles me every time I go in there....ALL the HUGH dollar boats they are BUMPING out. I fill guilty enough having spend the money I did...I cant even imagine spending four times the money and still only putting on 40hours a year on it. BUT if we had CHARLIES money I guess it wouldnt really matter:D hehehe

It kills me as I'm trying to sell my boat. The question comes up, how many hours on your boat. I answer 228 hours and they geez that's alot of hours. I say Duh!, I'm supposed to use it. I see boat's forsale 1999 40 hours and that's when I say Duh!

CEO
02-24-2004, 02:22 PM
Thanks Mbrown2. I can't wait until it gets powered up:)

So True...At Parker, I see boats with 100 hours that look years worse than boats with 400+ hours.......I use to worry about boats with lots of hours, but now I would not. I would just ask to see service records or ask about rebuilds and such. A person putting 400+ hours on a boat that is only 6-8 years old means they use it, and if it looks good they probably take care of it...That should matter more is how did the prior owner take care of it.

How about this- 1995 Malibu Echelon ski boat- purchased new Jan of 1996- as of last weekend, it has 815 hrs- and it still looks good, floats, holds the cuties, you know- every necessary thing except go over 45 mph :D

What you have here is a case of "work smarter not harder"
BUT I heard you only put 20 of those hours on it yourself....Powerboat cover shoot here......***boat cover shoot there.......When is Robin leach doing the "lifestyles of the rich and famous" photo shoot.......I design the paint....you get all the glory...WHATEVER!

I agree wth you Boatfloating. I am going to use the shit of my rig. Why buy something that expensive and don't use it! I guess I could get a tow rope and tie up to Charlie, Mbrown2, and soon to be the Vees and save my hour meter. I probably will go faster that way!:D :D :D :D

welk2party
02-27-2004, 07:51 PM
Hours are kinda misleading I agree. I put 28 last summer, but was porbably partying on it 5 times the hours. I plan to keep mine looking new for as long as possible. New boat is already been getting nicks and dings fixed for the summer. Boat is not even a year old. Definately did not pay that kind of money to store it.
