If you're gonna watch that thing make sure you watch the unrated version - don't bother with the watered-down version of it.

Caligula, the possibly highest budget porn movie of all time, stars Malcolm McDowell in the title role, doing a brave job as the crazed, sex-obsessed, self proclaimed person. This is the story of Caligula's accession to the throne of Rome, and his licentious (to put it extremely mildly) habits once he achieved absolute power. The supporting cast can boast some acclaimed actors, such as John Gielgud and Peter O'Toole, who no doubt they were engaging in serious drama, and manage to be diplomatically killed off early in the piece, thereby salvaging a little dignity. Notable scenes include the one in which Caligula conquers the papyrus, and the scene featuring rotating scythe-like blades which cut off the heads of people buied up to their necks in the ground.
Caligula(Malcolm McDowell) is a young boy in ancient Rome. He grows hungry for power and eventually kills the current emperor and takes the thrown. He is a ruthless, cold, and cruel leader. The film depicts the rise and fall of this real emperor
Good sick X movie...hard to belive the stuff they did back than.

No good..I'm one of the last of the VCR owners. No DVD players for me untill I can't rent a tape at BlockBuster. I know I'm in a cave and it aint about a $50 dollar DVD player. I've got all this high end (at the time) Dolby pro logic stuff with the 5 speakers that added up to thousands when I got the stuff back then...but as ya know it wont read the digital dvd.
So I'm holding out;) till I cant rent a tape.
Soooooo who's got a good VHS copy of Caligula?
I'll Most likely update everything when the DVD is outdated...then at least this time I'll be ahead of the game...for a short time anyhow:rolleyes: :D

Dude!!!! Come off the hip!!. Spend the money. A 50.00 dvd will still give you the prologic sound if you hook it to your home theater system. Buy the cheapest thing you can find. They are the ones that will usually play the most formats anyway. IF nothing else download it and watch it on the puter.

Question, on my Dolby ProLogic Reciever I have...>
VCR1/VCR2, am/fm, Phono,Tape, CD, and VDP Buttons.
So how would the DVD work? Where would it hook into? I thought DVD's are 5.1 digital signal:confused:
This Marantz Pro-Logic reciever is well over 10 years old...was well over a grand when I bought it, and still have the issue of Stereo Review that raited it best new performer...at that time.
Failed to add...I seem to recall when the first high dollar DVD players hit the market I was told that no it would'nt work with my Receiver...so again:confused:
Thanks for any answers.

Any line level input will work with the DVD, either the VCR's, Tape or CD. Most DVD's have multiple video/audio outputs, but the most basic is the yellow/red/white RCA connector for video/audio r/l. Hook the yellow to your TV and the white/red into one of your line level inputs on your receiver. I've got a circa 1980's Technics receiver and I could hook the DVD to that if I wanted.

Dont know about that movie. Havent watched it, but I do know Im not down for the plots in a porno. And the highest money spent on a porno was Jenna Jamesons new video I think its called quest...Just came out anyone seen it....

That movie was disgusting. If I want to watch a porno, I will just rent a porno. It will have hotter chicks who really know how to screw. The acting in the movie was really bad and so were the sex scenes. I had to turn it off when I saw one man rub butter on another mans ass and shove a wooden rod up his ass. When the movie has full blown gay stuff in it, it't time for Justin to tune out.
But hey, to eash their own. Enjoy!

78Eliminator...true it was a disgusting flick for back then...last I saw it was early 80's...I just thought it was odd how some of the people with power treated others...Sex and abusing it was a big thing back then...they did it with anything that walked or was warm to the touch. I forgot about the "Butter Scene", that had to do with the King having the right to bed the Bride or something...and then for spite he fisted the Groom or something like that? At best it was giving a view how corrupt(sp) and sick the Roman Empire was back then.
Disease was eveywhere, Sex houses were everywhere...actually as best I can remember it had a pretty good story line, and no it wasn't a quote PORNO as todays X raited wack-off flicks are. Caligula had some main stream Actors in it, not (Jenna I don't do it in the Butt Jamesion) or Linda Lovelace...hope to see it again sometime.
Who knows, maybe I'll also turn it off.
