Right now I have a SSV195 Glastron with 5.7L and Alpha outdrive. It runs 62mph on GPS at 5100rpm with a 21P.
BUT !!!!
I want to build more HP with the small block format and understand 300HP is the Alpha limit.
My question may be simplistic, but can I bolt a Bravo 1 to my Mercruiser 5.7L ?

The transom hardware is different for the Bravo. You have to change nearly everything. If you are lucky enough to locate an Alpha SS, It will hold up to a really hot small block.
I checked on it a while back. The Brave Shop sells a alpha to brave swap kit. If you must do so that would be the least expensive way.

I know to guys in town here that have 502 mag's bolted up to the Alpha drive on 1987/1988(PRE-BRAVO) Sea Ray Pachanga's. They told me you just have to be carefull when taking off. I have seen the boat run and it is FAST!

The alpha will take a lot more than most say. I have a 87 21' caribean 500hp 468,have never done anything other than regular maintnence. I start in gear as it idles about900 rpm, and ease it out of the hole, and when it gets air always make sure to be out of the throttle on re entry.
