Met Lakeshow down at Chula Vista Saturday and launched his 28 for some testing. They have a pretty nice marina. Got a chance to see the Midway being moved to permanent berth. Also some flyovers by a jet and two props in formation. We did a couple of flyovers also.

What is the speed limit in the bay? I hope it is not 5 mph.

I'm not sure about the speed limit, but I do know that they ask you to keep your boat right side up and in contact with the water most of the time !!!!

This was back in September at the BayFair race. Believe it or not, he landed right side up, but rescue could not get his canopy open to they just tow it back to shore with him in it. He was OK.

There dosen't seem to be a speed limit on San Diego bay. We pretty much blew by all the security, harbor police and coast guard waiving at them. I've never been pencil whipped by the authorities there. I think its one of those safe navagation things. Just stay away from the Navy ships unless you want your boat to look like swiss cheese! :eek!: I know the blow boaters don't like us. :D I love saying that.
That pic above of the boat flipping over is on Mission bay. There are not many areas out of no wake there. Around Fiesta island you can go 35 in one direction only with close supervision by the fun police. I have not been pencil whipped on Mission bay but I have been finger whipped. I don't go there. Great place for the blow boaters! :D

So how did Lakeshow's Pfaff setup run?

The Pfaff set up is fantastic, however, I am still trying to get the right prop set up dialed in as I am not able to pull the speed numbers that it should.

That's a clean power pack. Runs smooth, idles nice, looks cool, sounds good. I don't want to tell too much of Lakeshow's story but I like it. It's the Phaff 700hp efi. I had us at 79.5 on my handheld turning about 5400+ or- rpm when I could eyeball it. I don't know what the limiter is on the 700.
The 28 Extreme is a heavy boat. He seems to like the 28 labbed bravo wheel which we were running. Thats the exact prop I used to get 80 & change on my 28 at 5200 rpm.
If it were me I would try the 30 labbed prop on his. I think Lakeshow posted in another thread he was going to try a standard 28 & 26 prop.
Whatever the case, its a nice rig! Once he gets it dialed in it's going to be a bad V hull. I look forward to running Catalina with him!!!!
Damn it's a nice day today! I should be out there now!!!
