What's up with your sled? I saw some pictures floating around of your motor all torn downand I think they are recent. What's up?

I hear he's building a BAE 540 with dual plug heads, The big whipple, injector hat complete with nigger lips. Hear the plan is to run it on alki @ 40 pounds of boost.
It's only a lake boat deal but should be able to spank a flat or 2 and most important it might be able to keep up with Cyclone. :D

No, the motor is all together, ready to fire anytime I turn the key! I am having the pump rebuilt with a stainless impeller, Q shaft, and getting a new ride plate.

This is what you need HB.
http://www.***boat.com/image_center/data/506/1BBC_Injection-med.JPG
Would this net him any increase in performance over what he has now?
Is this mechanical injection?
HB, why did you not build a blower motor?

I am sure that will do really well in the no wake zones.

They look kick ass, but from what I have read and heard they are designed for wot and not real nice for part throttle and the such, some folks have made them work but it is alot of work. IMO a pair of carbs would be much nicer for an all around boat but if you are going drag racing that would be the set up.

Yup, that's what I understand as well. No bueno unless over 3500 rpms....

Or if he want's to be a sleeper maybe one like this. I mean, no blower and all, how much power could it make??

I like the $1500 intake manifold. These drag boat guys have deep pockets. I am having a hard time financing my alky motor....

Since we are choosing powerplants for HB, here is my proffesional recommendation.

When I wrote the above I was thinking of this. Would be sweet in Randy's boat. I donno if he could hear the skier say "HIT IT" though. :)

Looks like unchained's left overs.

SD, how much power does that TM motor make? At least is has the right colors.
Why didn't I go with a blower? Well, that's what everyone does when they decided to go fast. Just add a blower and you will be the shit right? Not knocking the blower guys, I like them, but I would hate to have a blown motor and get passed by a TM motor on pump gas with iron heads. Now, if I get passed by the blown motor... hey, it's a blown motor, everyone knows they are the fastest motors! haha! J/K
SD, I like that last photo you posted.. I remember taking it. I think seeing that motor in a 21' Daytona, V drive would be the hot ticket setup.

I'm gonna date myself again. Anybody remember that old Styx song from the 70's
(I've got) "Too much time on my hands"

Yes Dan, it is INDEED winter out here, single digit high temperatures and sub-zero wind chill factors  - can anyone tell me WHY this state has the most registered boats (expressed as a percentage of the population)? Must be brain freeze, you can see what it did to ol' Unchained...... LOL

IF that motor is by Morgan's Machine in Walnut Creek, it's just another piece of extremely bad ass shit that I've seen come out of there.
I wanted to have some work done there, but my pockets just don't accomodate that kind of demand.

Jim, that was indeed the motor in Tim's hydro, which unfortunately crashed at Pheonix last spring.

Is that a alky motor? What kind of power does that make and what kind of $ does that run?

Randy, I don't know how much power it makes. That's Jeff Martin's boat and he was running 7.00's and did dip in the 6's that day. I do know that it's a wild piece and I bet it would cost ya 100K or more.
I remember when you took that pic too. I was standing right next to ya. That's the day I met a bunch of you OP6 guys for the first time.
