looks like yours does not have a back cut. I think the backcut shoe generates a little more lift-but it depends on the hull. I remember a thread covering this not too long ago... here is mine...http://www.***boat.com/image_center/data/500/212WJ_intake_shoe_rear-med.jpg
What kind of pump is that?
Cant tell in the pic if it is set up correctly on your boat. Ball park correct placement is to place the bottom rear of the shoe(just ahead of where the ride plate bolts up) even with the keel of the boat. You can add shims or take them away depending on the adjustment needed. After that its trial and error to see what the boat likes best.

First what kind of intake is it Berk or Dom ect.
Second take a stright edge and run it down the keel of the boat at the back and see where it hits the shoe.Or where it is in relation ship to the shoe.
And the shoe looks really thick but I am not saying that is bad or good.
Is this the TX if so you have more pics of it?
Other than the shoe looking thick it looks like a normal shoed intake with a ride plate.I would say you are a ahead of the game being that it has been machined for a shoe and ride plate allready.

It is on the TX-19.I think it is a dominator pump( no tag )I'll check it with the straight edge .http://www.***boat.com/image_center/data/521/1161DSCN0354.JPG

We just about told you the same thing that is funny. We were posting about the same time.
You have a really cool ride plate adjuster on that set up in stead of having a bowl cradel you have turn buckles.Thoes things are pretty neat.
If it is a Dominator it will say it really big on the side of the pump cast in the alum, same with a Berk

Cool boat if you put some transom plates on it and took off that hugh ext it would really clean up the back(just my opnion I like the looks of transom plates).
That hull should run pretty hard with the right power.A guy at my lake has a 79 TX 19 Youngblood Dom pump and built 460 that will get with it for a full int lake boat. And Bubs no light weight guy either.
Sweet buy, See guys this is where all your gullwing CPs came from the orignator of the hull Jim Youngblood.

the pump is set so far back the ugly box is needed. This boat is set up for a SBC.It is supposed to be a C imp but I don't know much about dom's.Rumor has it it had a 383 stroker in it and it ran good.I just liked the way it looked.http://www.***boat.com/image_center/data/500/1161DSCN0351.JPG

That can be a very good looking gullwing with some detailing. It definitely looks like the boat needs to go forward on the trailer, however. You might be generating an unwanted hook in the hull if it is hanging off the back of the bunk boards.

460 Rogers that is what Transom plates are made to do seal around a set back pump no matter how far or not even set out of the boat at all they will work fine you will have to make them fit the contors of the pump.
Is the hull pretty light I have heard the True TX Youngbloods were layed up lighter than a normal lake boat.

I moved it back to get a better look at the shoe thingie, there looks like there is some hook in it though. It is a pretty light layup from what I've seen,I can lift the rear up even with the pump in it.the stringers in the back are only 1"thick with alum rails. Is this a gullwing type hull?does anyone know what the brackets on the right side of the engine compartment were for?Should I go back with the SBC or go for more cubics?Any good info on domonator pumps would also be great.

460 looks like a gullwing to me. can't tell for shure, but the little brackets on the right look like ski holder brackets to me. if they have a slot verticaly with a wire going across the outer part of the slot thay's what they are. a plasti part slides down in the slot and has two places on it to hold skis. looks like you're going to have a fun spring! brad

Yes it is a Gullwing.
I would go with a big block.
Dominators are good pumps the bowl bearing is water lubed.
Your hull is like mine (a gullwing)but a foot longer and a few inches wider. If it does have one inch stringers it sounds like it is a lighter law up.If you look at the front of the hull it looks like a gulls wing it is made to pack air like a tunnel hull.

Hey 460!
What's goin on man?
In my totally unqualified opinion, PUT AS MUCH POWER TO THAT THING AS YOU CAN!
That way you won't end up saying "I wish I'd"
Peace Man!
