I'm sure that this has been answered before, but is there a easy way to measure prop pitch? I have a couple of merc props that came with the boat but dont know how to find the pitch. None of them are in perfect shape, but if I find one that works good I would like to replace it with one that is the same in stainless. With the high price of props I don't want to buy the wrong one.

No, there is no EASY way. Look for part numbers if they are merc's...

burt is right, should be a part # on the merc props, or else go to a prop rebuilding shop and they can check it.

Every prop today is a variable pitch (to help stop cavitation)...which means that the pitch will vary from the tip to the hub.
The wacky thing is that different manufacturers have thier own calculation for measuring pitch...so it's apples to oranges sometimes.
Merc props should have the diameter and pitch in the numbers (as Merc measures it), but may not be accurate if the prop has been reworked, or lost some diameter due to "close contact with an immovable object".
