Does anyone have an idea on how much one would spend upgrading a stock Bravo I with stronger gears and shafts.
Thanks

Anita,
The outer housing (Bravo) will accommodate all of the XR parts. However, buying the individual parts, plus labor might exceed the price of buying a good used XR. The gimbal bearing inside of the transom shield must also be changed to accommodate the larger U joints of the XR. For specific dollar amounts feel free to call Tony San Marco at 954-764-1724 and use my name. Tony and his Family have been taking care of my outdrives for years.
Good luck,
Steve

$3800 to chnage over to XR gears. That's if you were running 1.36, because you have to change the lower gears to get back to the 1.36. if you had 1.50's it'd be a little less. This is the quote Larry Peto gave me. I don't know about the shafts and stuff because I already had them.
