Can someone post a pic of Stringers for me. So I know what to look for on my hull.
Thanks

If it's been in the boat any amount of time the smell should lead you right to it.

So I take it that the stringers are the reiforcing down the sides that have a distinct ' fishy ' smell to them. Is that because the layup involves the use of fish oil :D

you got it Paul :D
Stringers, the other kind... Long wood boards that run the length of the boat giving the bottom its strength. In most boats all the running gear mounts to them, ie: engine, vdrive, etc. Some boats have 2, some have 4, depends on the boat and style. Some boats have 2 full length, and 2 shorties. Some just have 2 short ones (stay away from those if it were me). Usually stringers are 2 x whatever, 6, 8, 10, 12 etc depending on the boat.
If you find the fishy kind you may not find the wooden ones cause the boat may be aluminum :D

Hans,
The forward running bumpy thingy's on the bottom of the hull. The k-boat in the pic above has 2 per side.
BTW- don't take the tom foolery to serious. We are just a bunch of jokers.
Morg.

oops, sorry Paul, misread your request, figured it must be tea time. :D
strakes like Morg said... they basically produce lift and also regulate the turning characteristics... many different combos and designs based on different hulls.

Morg: Thanks, and, no I havn't taken it too serious.;)
Mike: I understand, we certainly like our tucker down here. Though I'm not a big seafood person so they're arn't many shrimps on the barbie. Plenty of snags and steaks though. :D
