Remember my old 1970 300? I did a little clean-up. Still working on the metamorphosis, but check out the before and after so far:

Registered, runs perfect, daily driver 440. Exceeds 100 mph on the carb's primaries. (I think it'll do 135 WOT.) Grand total expenditures including the car: $500:D

Hey Lakes,
I like the car, what is with the two different plates?
I cut my teeth on 440 power with my dads 73 New Yorker. I still miss that car, acres of sheetmetal, and power to boot.

The car sat unregistered for eight years when I found it. So it fell off the DMV's records. And so when I applied for vehicle registration, they had to treat it like a "first time registration" and so I was issued new plates (even though I had the old ones).
Man, the bureaucracy...VIN verfication by the highway patrol, statement of facts, bill of sale, retroactive non-op permits, application for duplicate (lost) title, etc....I had to sumit ELEVEN sheets of papers and signatures to get the car re-registered/back into the system. But in the end, the reg. fee was only $50!

Yeah, the Mopar Fuselage Era. Took awhile to grow on me--being into the Scat-Pak cars and mid-sixties stuff--but I really like this one. Sittin' at a red light look around at all the recycled beer cans around me. And then I notice: everybody's lookin' at me.
Gotta slap some dual exhaust on this thing, now.

Hooker makes headers for c bodies.

I have a set of 440 HP manifolds for a C body laying in my shop. Don't go the header route. I had a Hurst 300B a few years back that had a 440 super commando. The car got totalled and I parted it out except for engine. Nice soild car!!!

I want to be correct. The engine was a 440 TnT. Dodge=Magnum,Plymouth=super commando,Chrysler=TnT. This was the optional HP 375hp series.

Guys,
This car has probably a 2.75 or 3.00 rear-end in it, so the motor will rarely be over 3500 rpm. I don't see the need for headers in this particular application; I think the dual exhaust will reduce backpressure sufficiently. But hey, leave it to Hooker to make headers for C-Bodies! Gotta love Hooker.
I didn't know that 440 HP exhaust manifolds were different from the 350-horse 440's.
Mopar 426, I am crushed to learn that there is one less 1970 300H in existence.

These manifolds are easy to spot. The standard 440/383/400 used the big logs, the HP's have individual chambers and meet at a common collector. The passenger side is identicle to E-B-A bodies, the only difference is the drivers side where the exhaust has to clear the steering shaft. They resemble the old Max wedge pieces. I really liked my 300H, I was going to restore it before the el accidente. Everyone just thought it was a big boat with the creme and gold paint job.:(

Didn't know they used anything like that in the 300 Hurst.
Cool...
