I took this picture at the IHBA race in Waco, Tx in July 2000. It was the first and only Jet Hydro I have ever seen in person. The guy I talked to told me it had a rather storied past and went on to tell about Blown hemis and what not, anyway, thought some of y'all might want to see it.

Is this the kind of boat that JetHydro here on the boards runs??

No Jethydro has a Hondo.
Sangers have little tunnels in them. And the hondo has a center pod sticking down in the back.

Ok it`s kinda of a long story But I`ll try to enlighten you on the short side of it.
That boat was built by Sanger and designed by Dean Willis. Dean told me that he took a Hydro and sat it on top of a tunnel bottom and that`s how he designed this style of boat. So in short it not really a Hydro but it does look like one.
Now my Hydro was built by Hondo out of the same boat as the V-Drive Hondo Hydro. Hondo took the Hydro and added a pod for the jetdrive intake. I`ll post some pic`s to show you the differences.

Thanks for the picture comparison JetHydro. I think those things look cool as hell, how do they run and ride? What kind of speeds are they capable of? How well do they E.T.?

I`m not going to BS ya here...lol... Those things can be a hand full.
The blue one that was in Waco ran 13 and 12`s.
The red one in the air shot ran some where in the 120 to 130 mph, don't know the et of that one but it ran pretty fast.
Mine has been raced in the 13`s , 12`s and the 11`s. This year I`m going to do some bottom work and see if it can run the 10`s. I`v got a motor that should put me in the 9`s but we haven't been able to keep the boat wet enough to run it all the way out the door yet. Every year I move up one class, this year it`s to the 10`s. Time will only tell, might be at the end of the season but it`s the plan. We will be a racing at Waco again this year so stop by and check it out.

Is the Ft.Worth race going to be at Marine Creek? If it is I will be there too. I might be able to make the May race in Waco, I will just have to see if it interferes with the kids junior dragster schedule. Junior dragsters are our new venture this year, and DAMN I didn't know how much you could spend on a Briggs & Stratton!!!

June 19 & 20 Ft.Worth TX Marine Creek Lake
Hope you can make it.

It looks like I will be able to make the Ft.Worth race and both races at Waco. If your gonna need any help once you get there or a shop to use on the way there let me know, I would be more than happy to help. My shop is about an hour and fifteen minutes from the Marine Creek site.

Why are we not Starting a Jr. Drag Boat Series.
We have a drive Called Jr which has ran on as little as 43 HP and same drive ran 62 MPH in a 20 Degree 17' stock "B" Block Mazda.
I have a 16'9" Tunnel Mold which stays straight and ran 120's- Great for this kind of Program.

FOMOCO- I have seen that boat at the shop in GR, nothing too exciting, Shop owners son says it runs 80 (its got a BBC). Rick ALWAYS wants more for his boats than sources say their worth. For example last year he had a couple basic jets in the showroom at 10-11K each, one had a ford one had a chevy, I said they were overpriced and he didn't like it. I will tell you though, They are real knowlegeable and have a large stock of parts at regular prices, so in a pinch you are back on the water, without shipping stuff in from Kalifornia. BTW where do you boat at around here?

That was just a long spacer I had to run when we had the BIG ride plate on. When we went to the small ride plate I had to remove the spacer and all wedge. I haven't had a chance to try the small ride plate with the straight snoot yet but when we had the droop snoot on the spacer and all wedge had to come out.
I too "love where we have been as much as where we are going" and thanks to you and Duane, I know where we are going!;) :D
