How can u tell what strut angle you have if it is not marked? The boat I bought came with 2 struts...No markings on them. They are both Bronze. The shaft log is a Hallcraft and is not marked either.. The Boat is a 22' Schiada Daycruiser...Thanks John

Not positive but I would bet it is a 9 degree

That can be found with a simple angle finder. Level the boat with the angle finder and then measure the strut angle.

Where would you level the boat at? Just before the strut?

Measure the difference between the strut base and the angle.
This strut is 8 degrees:

Just get one of these $4.99 dealios at the hardware store!. If the strut is on the boat, put the finder on the bottom and take note of the reading, now put it on the strut and take a reading, the difference is your strut angle!!..:)

You guys are on the right track but for absolute precision the digital smart level is the best especially for duplicating struts as it will read out in tenths of a degree. I would be skeptical of the one in the last pic due to the fact of increments in 5 degrees. Not bashing anyones way of doing it, just relaying a more precise and simple method.

That one happens to be from Sears, I have one like that and it reads in 1 degree increments and is perfect for checking the angle on the boat. If I was making a strut then I would use a smart level!...
