Date and location is about 90% etched in stone. The other 10% depends on YOU GUYS!
Here's a link to the signup sheet (http://www.roostwear.com/signup.htm) If boating without dodging yachts, and trying out a new spot sounds good to you, sign up so I can get a better idea what size event we're talking about.
Sponsors/ gluttens for punishment welcomed!

That's the reason I included the "how are you staying" on the form. I'll be able to gauge the total number, and also how many RVs, motel rooms, etc.
Maybe Cyclone will have his blower motor ready for a little shakedown run at Lost Lake! For that matter, we haven't really heard from Randy lately, so he could have been adding some HP over the winter. Me, I'm stuck at 40 mph..........:D

If the event is going to be held at Big River RV park, why is rv parking going to be a problem?? I don't unterstand? Doesn't that resort hold like 250 rv's?

I will be there, site number 12. This will be our 12 year at big river.
I would think that anyone looking to RV it, should not have to much of a problem as a weekender getting a spot. They seem to always have open spots unless it's july 4th.
Look forward to meeting more peps from the boards.....

Are you gonna keep your trailer at Big River? They only give dry storage space if you keep you trailer on a spot for 2 months. Its like $250 a month. Thats why Vic and I are gonna keep our trailers at Twin Palms. Its 25 a month, and 60 bucks for a weekend spot, with cabanna, 30 yds from the water. I got some pics of Twin Palms if your interested.

I called them, to qualify for he monthly storange of $20 a month, you need to 1st keep a hookup spot for 2 months. Then you can dry storage. You have to do this every year. That is what she told me. I repeated it to make sure I heard it right , she said "yup, you got it"

Here is Twin Plams.
Its $60 bucks a weekend, for 2 people in a RV with elec and H2O hookups. Dry storage is like $30 a mo.

565edge, are you really going to attend? If so, then lets line up and see if that checker board can stay lit long enough for a little river race. You want to kick my ass so bad on the water (why I will never know) so now you will have your chance. Come on out and lets end this and see who gets put on the beach.

Ok, here's a perfect time for the legal mumbo jumbo.
"The organizers and sponsors of the Freeboard Challenged Summer Jumpstart (hereby called "the event") do not advertise, endorse, or support any speed contests by the attendees, and as such, cannot be held liable for damages or claims brought by the actions of said attendees. Attendees are solely responsible for their actions and agree to release the event organizers and sponsors from any and all legal actions".
Safety is the highest priority in an boating event, and the Freeboard Challenged event is no different. Anyone that cannot conduct themselves in a civil and safe manner will be asked to leave.
If anyone cannot abide by, or agree to, the above statements, DO NOT ATTEND!

Mike,
Change your registration form to have a radio button that indicates that the guest agree's to those terms. If they don't click yes, they can't register.
Posting it on the web is not going to save your arse if someone stubs their toe and sues for a mill. They have to proactively indicate that they agree to the terms.
Good luck,
Chris

im still going i just want to make sure i dont hurt anyone's feelings by runnin my boat hard. :)

roostwear
02-05-2004, 03:48 PM
Basically, it's a liabilty thang. The event doesn't endorse speed runs, but you as an individual can go where you want, and do what you want. I don't think that anything in the disclaimer is unreasonable, and you know me, I'm not into the nazi organizational thing. Just a few basic rules to cover Roost's ass, ya know?

We read that but it really doesnt have any info on gas, bars, and locations to stay other than Big Water Inn. Is this place similar to Parker where you can get everything you need on the River, or do you have to make sure you bring everything with you?

cyclone

big river is about 3 miles south of parker so everything you need (motels, food, gas, bars etc.) is all within easy reach. you can stay in parker at a motel or stay at the big river inn which is right near the rv park.

This event is sounding better and better every day. Yes we are running again this year i took hi points in the 9.50 bracket it was my first year driving a flat. Now he is really excited about it as of now the motor is apart and being put together and some bottom hardware is going to be set where it should be now that i feel safe driving it.So we will definitely be out of the 9.50 classa and into the 9.00 or faster we will see in march where it will be.
BTW that blue placecraft you heard about it my buddys boat or my bosses son and it will be out there this summer last year at memorial the motor went so he didnt get it back til labor day now it is ready. He stays in between twin palms and paradise point.I plan on being out there too but prob in my own boat the 21 elim with the i/o but the flat might come out too for morn play

Tell me more about the placecraft, the one ive been hearing about has a blown alcohol motor, but is below palo verde diversion dam, I hear hes "the man" down there.
Ive been boating that stretch between lost lake and palo verde dam for about 15 years now, but im yet to see the blue PC your talking about. Ive seen that kinda faded blue one with the chrome or polished pump with a blown motor and seating for 4 but its not that fast, I think its a different boat were talking about here.
Good luck in the 9.0s this season.. Watch out for that Roznos guy :D Hes got that bracket pretty wired.:D

I'd be concerned, but I'm bringing my boys. Being around rowdy, drunk boaters doesn't phase them anymore. (Note to self: don't say this out loud again... someone may call CPS)

Is your boss still planning on running 9.50 this season?

CS19-77 charger was talking about his buddy that runs his above the dam. He also has run ming. I do know the boats you are thinking of though. There are 2 of them not just one. They are not out of your league they are WAY out of your league. One is red and white that was just re-done my grimes. The other is purple and white. They both hang out north of Mayflower up by
the dam. They both are blown injected on alky.
There is an orange blown gullwing running there that you could probably take.
