Super Cool!!!
If memory serves, those were the Beuhler Turbo Craft boats that went up thru the Grand Canyon, the first boats in history to go all the way up from Lake Mead to Lees Ferry.
Man that would be fun to try today, too bad the NPS forbids you to go more than about 35 miles or so up in to the Grand Canyon now.
It's still a very cool trip to make, the scenery is incredible.

Is anyone suprised that the park service won't let you do that ?
They'd be pickin some fool like me off the bottom every week !
It looks to me like 45 - 50 mph just to sit still and you really need a centered helm , he kept looking back to see where he was steering! :eek:

I'd be willing to bet those things were way under powered compared to our boats today.
It looks like he was really struggling to get enough thrust to get over that last roller.
