You get one pick and one pick ONLY! Those who violate the rule will be forced to sleep next to RD in the Scooby Doo bed naked. I didn't go to the show so I'm just curious.

My 10 year old son's overwhelming pick was the Eliminator 30 ft daytona he actually stared at it for over 25 min and it's all he talked about afterwords.
As for me, there wasn't one clear winner. The boat that caught my eye at the show for my more modest tastes was the Eliminator 230 eagle. The one they had at the show looked great, but I would want it in a closed bow and replace the green with candy apple red in it's gel coat etc and have the seats in a soft purple base color instead of the white..:cool: :D P.S. the boat was in a loud yellow, purple, and green gelcoat.:cool:

For my own little biased opinion, it would have to be the
Magic 28' Deck Boat.

That is a really tough question. I have to take a real hard look based on a full show tour to answer that one

There were boats at the boat show? We kinda missed that with meeting everyone. I did see a guy wearing a shirt that said Zodiac boats suck. I think he had issues.

Many awesome boats. Obviously, I liked the Schiada's. Magic deck boat was nice, Howards looked great and DCB and eliminator as well. Actually, I really liked the houseboat with the spa on the roof. :D

The Shiada's were by far the BEST looking river boats IMHO. The engine compartments on those things are just immaculate, unlike the Commander cat that was on the cover of Hot Boat. The engine compartment was loaded with dirt, grime, and oil! What a eff'n joke to bring a boat looking like that to a show! That's a testament to their mindset.
I really liked the DCB 28 Extreme! Just too damn expensive for me! The DCB with the ghost flames in the gray, WOW! The detail on that part of the boat was just amazing to me!
Checked out Todd's Nordic 35, very nice as well!
I'm partial to Essex but there were a lot of really nice boats there!

Howard 25 (So Smooth)
Ultra 24 Stealth (great interior
Schiada 24 ( Outstanding)
Cobra 26 (Nice Lines< not to big and not to small)
For the Cats:
Shockwave has my vote, looks very comfortable and smooth, laidback almost.
DCB 26 without the canopy, havn't rubbed off on me yet.

I have to say that the Schiadas looked great, especially that 21 River Cruiser. Ultra and DCB, fantastic as usual. HOWARD was, by far, the best. One thing that pissed me off was the amount of kids playing in the boats like they were a jungle gym at the park.
WTF!!!

As for the "Best of Show" that would have to go to Charley for making the sickest booth there!

I have a larger copy of this for you Charley, and I plan on going back this week, so I will take more before I email ya!
Best Gelcoat was this Lavey. Not as wild as others, but just beautiful in person.

I liked the MTI, but I thought that it was a little shortchanged with Bravo Extreme's on the back and Quadwhipples and all that power in the hatches....not the kind of boat that I would be cutting corners with...:confused:

Although the boats that have been mentioned are all nice, I would have to say that the "Liquid Metal" 36' Skater, the 39' MTI and DCB's F34 were the highlights of the show.
Oh yeah, Charlie's DCB booth was off the hook as well.

For V's I am partial to the 21' Shcockwave Step Skier, as we just got ours a couple of weeks ago!!!:D :D
As for Cat's the 26' Shockwave is my choice.:p :p
As for our son, Cat's he likes the Shockwave Cat, as for V's it would be the Laveycraft F1-11. Kevin Cooper was awesome with letting our kids get in the boat and spending time with us!! He didn't have to give us the time of day, but spent about 20 minutes talking to us. Thanks Kevin.

Vee for the lake:
* Howard 28 or 25
Cats:
* Shockwave 26 Cat
* DCB & Eliminator cats - I don't have a "cat eye for a straight guy" so I'll leave the discussion about which cat is better to others
Offshore:
* Schiada 32 offshore
* Sunsation V with twins
Deckboats:
* Magic & Conquest (new deckboat)
Saw this awesome gelcoat at Lavey Craft and figured (a) it'll be very hot on this beautiful dark color and (b) the amazing rounded contour would be good for an accidental dip as you slide off it (keeping it wet so you can crawl across it):

I had 2 favorite boats at the show although all in all I was not really impressed with the show. I had a lot higher expectations of it.
Favorite boat there was the E-Ticket. The deck boat blows away anything else any other deck boat has to offer right now. They even go as far as geling the inside of the engine compartment.
2nd favorite is the Ultra 247. I liked it so much I think I am going to buy one. 53k w/ a 496 you just cant go wrong.

I thought the show was great. I was most impressed by the 25 Bullet, the 28 Magic, the 34 Magic was insane, and the MTI was probably the best big cat. We are so confussed on what to buy now. DCB had by far the best booth, Eclispe was by far the worst boat, and I kinda liked the American Offshore deck boat. Design only, the paint on the gel has to go. my .02

They even show you where the ATM is.
However, that "no alcohol" crap has got to go. We kept making trips out to the truck for refreshments...I felt like I was elementary...errrr...high school again.

Ding, Ding, Ding.....we have a winner!
That boat showed why 20 year old Schiadas are selling now for more than when they were new. It really was a work of art. IMHO it was by far the most impressive "non race boat" at the show.

I think I am getting old (of course, it didn't help having the 20 year-old hotties around, either).
Home at midnight...up at 4AM with alcohol still on my breath...I hope it was worth it (they told me I had fun).

There are a lot of really nice boats, lots and lots of color, but the best has to be the Terrible Herbst 360. Its the junior of the unbelievable 540 from two years ago, right down to the SS arch. I'm glad to see the side door is catching on, Nancy says she'll never have another boat without it...
