I have an 02 Audi TT that I drive every day.
It's a great car, real sporty and handles like it's glued to the road.
I got the 225 Hp Quattro with the premium package.
When I got it people told me that after you've owned a German car you'll never have another American car.
Well I have a few American cars too but I can see what they mean. It's a very high quality built car.
I bought it through Autobytel and that saved me almost $ 5 k from what the local dealer quoted me.
If you're much over 6' it may be tight getting inside.

Not much of a Boxter fan - wifey likes it though. I told her I'd buy her a Porsche, so I got her this instead of a Boxter. At least I'd feel good about being seen in it:D

Its a 2001 that has never seen the shop other than for service. He used to be in Monteray now he's in Miami with it. He now considers it to be middle class for out there.

The S2000 will smoke a Boxter and its cheaper too. I've driven one and they are nice and quick little cars. Key word is little.
I would rather buy a Vette or 911 that is a few years old than a Boxter.

You're so wrong you can't even spell Boxster.
S2000 is cheaper and MUCH SMALLER inside. It may barely beat a Boxster but it won't beat a Boxster S. It doesn't "smoke" 'em either. Besides the S2000 motor has no torque.
Boxster's a great car no matter what anyone here says including Kilrtoy (hell, he bought his wife the old model F150 :D - nuff said!).
Sure it's got less power than a Vette or a 911 but it's a mid-engined car and if you know anything about handling you know that kind of balance is what every car wants. You may think you can drive a 911 fast on a track but you probably can't.
The Boxster S (get the Boxster S not the Boxster) is very difficult to beat for the money with the exception being a Corvette which continues to deliver the most bang-for-the-buck of the last 25 years or so.
You may think the Boxster/Boxster S is a "chick car" but then again, you probably couldn't drive it around a track very quickly either (there's more to driving a car than standing on the accelerator).

I guess I should have been more clear in my request, these are cars my mom is looking into, they're not for me, my mom asked me if I could do a little research. I drive a Superduty. However MMD is right about the handling of a porsche, My Cousin races for porsche, infact he is in Daytona right now, and he has a Boxster in Germany which he says is a very good handling car, however he has 911S in the states and he likes that a little better.

For the money...
I think an older SC or Carrera cabriolet would be a better buy than a Boxster.
The 3.2 motor is bulletproof and good for 175-200k miles when properly maintenanced.
The boxster seems to be depreciating rather rapidly,an older Carrera won't have that problem.
If you want something really wicked,get an older 911S(higher maintenance)but a lot of fun.

I've had a couple Corvettes in the past and now have my eye on a 1967 coupe but I refuse to buy a newer one until they upgrade their engine from the 1955 design they still run.
I can't believe they still put a pushrod engine in it.
I test drove a ZR1 several years ago and that thing had a great engine combo. Must be if they continued to produce that engine it would have put Leroy the UAW pushrod maker out of a job and the union can't have that. :rolleyes:

I just picked up a '02 Corvette Z06 with only 3,000 miles on it. The guy I bought it from told me he paid $57,000 OTD 1 1/2 years ago. I picked it up for $37k. This car is un real. I have owned and driven many a fast car including an AMG S55 and a Mustang Cobra. This Z eats all of them without doubt. Remember, there is no substitute for horsepower. It is f*cking amazing. Enough said. :D
