I'd like to see what kind of speed people are getting with their combo's(GPS only!) if anyone has the balls to say the truth( exaggerating is a common problem where I'm from) hull, hp, altitude, and speed should be enough info for now.
me first: 19' aluminum eagle, 400hp, alt? unknown , maybe 1000'(Shushwap), 78 mph.

20' Avenger, 200hp Mercury, 1200' high, 3.2mph with the current @ 0 RPM:eek: :D
Same conditions i ran 83.7 @ 5800 RPM
And @ sea level and same prop i hit the rev limiter @ 6100 RPM (no GPS though)

Thats it, I like to cruise around 70-80..I will GPS it this summer, there is alot more in this " OB "....V-Drive it's the same, not even a speedo in it...I will do both, " OB " will kick-ass bad for speed, HST HydroStreams move.........( . )( . )......Top speed on the HydroStream Top Gun's is around 125mph! I have a way bigger engine than his:cool:

'92 STV Pro Comp Ski. With Merc 2.4 Bridgeport EFI, 97.5 GPS. That was in Havasu, where it's 450' above sea level in fresh water. Should go better with the 2.5 I'm building now.
Bare hull is ~850# and I guess about 1400 with fuel, anchors and ready to go. I'll definitively weigh it when it's back together for this season.

It sucks not being able to go to the BBSP. Would have loved to have gone but we are racing that weekend. The 130mph was without the bottle but I don't think it will run any faster with it. Looks like the whackas will dominate again once again. Maybe someone could mail me a rubber chicken?

STV_Keith

Salt water has more bouyancy, so it's faster...and you're usually at "sea level".
Hey 77, do you think that thing would stay together for a mile of WOT? :p

well 4 stroke
intake(1 stroke)
comp(2nd stroke)
power(3rd stroke)
exhaust (4th stroke)
2 stroke
intake compression(1 stroke)
power exhaust(2nd stroke)
4 stroke motors have a separate crankcase where it gets its oil from while a 2 stoke has a dry crankcase which gets its oil from the mixture in the gasoline. that is one reason they seem to smoke alot
But i am sure you are probably still trying to figure out how you burnt an intake valve in your o/b:D :D :D

Great shot, SO. North Van is nice to look at. :)
That reminds me of the last time I was at Granville Island. A guy in an all black Hydrostream Vector was trying to get out of the channel on plane and he almost flipped it a couple of times on low frequency rollers. It looked harmless enough but his pad was causing some serious problems.

Ahhh, don't bother. It's still a heavy lake boat. 1500+# for sure. I'll weigh it when it heads to the water to see, but all that weight makes for slow acceleration. :)

You building a 13 ft for speed or for acceleration?? If you are trying to run over a 100 in a 13 footer, I predict some very bad things happening to you in the near future!!  Don't know if you remember the Whitecourt race in 2001 when that 13 ft sprint spun out under the bridge and hit a pillar. The guy's daughter that was riding with him and died on impact. That boat ran about 80 - 85 mph. Be very carefull with a boat that length at high speeds. It don't take much for them to change directions real fast.

Thanks for post!:D No I am not looking to drive this toy around at 100+ for any distance. This one for the acceleration deal. It works good for this. Thats the reason for the lifting last year. I have no need to hurt anyone. Now see how fast the thing will hit 80s thats better. I know with the motor and pump set up this is a life threating toy if you make it one! People Kill People Boats and Guns dont. I have a wonderfull wife and three girls to look after I am not going to be headline.
