ItÂ’s 2004 and time to get the word out about this yearÂ’s Classic Boat Beach Bash. The event will be held the weekend of August 14th (Friday the 13th- Monday the 16th) once again at the newly renovated Avi Hotel and Casino. A full itinerary will be posted on the eventÂ’s website at www.classicboatbeachbash.com (http://www.classicboatbeachbash.com), with additional updates and real time information found on the event message board at www.classicboatbeachbash.com/forums (http://www.classicboatbeachbash.com/forums).
Because there are always questions about how to sign up and register for your rooms, here is the run down on how to get setup for the event.
Step 1. Log onto www.classicboatbeachbash.com (http://www.classicboatbeachbash.com)and click on the “register” link on the left hand side of the page.
Step 2. Fill out the registration form and submit the information online.
Step 3. Call the Avi at 1-800-AVI-2WIN
Step 4. When you get an answer, tell them you would like to book a room with the Classic Boat Beach Bash group in August. Please refer to group code “CLASBB” to ensure that you are booked with the group.
**Special Note** For this year, we should be booked into the new wing overlooking the beach. If you only need a king size bed, you will get a room overlooking the beach. If you require a 2 queen bed room, you will still be in the same wing but on the other side of the hall with west facing windows. Be sure to specify the style of room you need so we can best utilize the booked rooms. There are 35 queen and 40 king bedrooms available so the sooner you book, the better your odds of landing what you want.
Step 5. Let them know how many days you would like. Friday and Saturday room rates are at a discounted $69/night, while Sunday evening is a super low $19/night. Because the rates went up this year, our continuation of the $69/night rate is actually a deeper discount than what we received last year. :)
Step 6. Get your confirmation number, be nice, say thank you, and start jonesing for August!
!!!While the registration deadline is still a couple months away, last year we had some procrastinators that ended up missing the deadline. While we were able to pull some strings and get them the discount, it wasn't the desired scenario and canÂ’t be relied upon for this year. By having a large group register with the Avi EARLY we have more influence when it comes to requesting special accommodations etc!!!
If you have any additional questions, or problems related to reserving your room, feel free to post them up here or email us directly at cbbbadmin@classicboatbeachbash.com
Thanks,
Your CBBB Support Team ;)

Out of curiosity, why is there so little interest in this event from the V-drive community? A couple blown runnerbottoms showed up last year that were locals, but beyond that there was a very small showing. Most of us would be stoked to see some serious hardware out there. The boats are anchored in the lagoon, so you're far safer from a swamping situation than you would be in Parker, and the whole event has bitchen no B.S. vibe. Ask a couple of your fellow V'drivers that did attend and I'm sure they'd shoot ya the straight deal.
I'm not whining or anything, just curious why there is so little interest over here.

I don't have all the answers but...
the Circle boat races at Long Beach were going on at the same time last year (I think)??

That is a very good point, we had that problem last year, and this year we waited for a while to try and see what the NJBA and Prostock dates were going to be, but ultimately we couldn't hold out any longer, and to ensure we got our reservations handled with the Avi, we picked our dates. We lucked out on the NJBA, but as I saw the other day on the Prostock thread, I won't be able to go down to Marine Stadium again this year :(

Guys, this is a cool event. It's on a weekend but that part of the river stays pretty flat.
I don't think I would run a v drive very early until the water comes up a bit. Some other did and had no problems though.
Last year was my first time and I had a BLAST! The Avi is a nice place too.
I've been hearing that some sponsers are kicking in some nice prizes to be given away. Also you can take as many pics as you want. :)

i can vouch for SD having a good time. He had such a good time that he slurred his words for 30 seconds before getting out "hello" to me on Saturday. :D

And that was during the DAY. I don't think he made it to the bar that night, or did he?

I heard SD was walking crooked and playing bumper pool with the walls of the hotel on the way back to his room.

You know we have a bitchen event when I can use the alcohol sales for the weekend of our event as bargaining leverage with the hotel :D
I'm hoping that Sweet Performance Plumbing will be in attendance this year with their floating product showcase sporting a twin turbo deal and a bitchen red and white gel scheme.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves, the boat would have to be at the event before we'd ever have to worry about that scenario :D

Dave,
You know we would absolutely love to see the Schiada at the river this summer. I think the reason that 99% of the people on the boards bust your nuts about it, is because they really just want to see the finished deal. It's like someone telling you you're gonna get something bitchen for your birthday, but not telling you what it is, or which birthday you're going to receive it on. Everyone is jonesing right along with you.
Now get back in the kitchen and wrap that up so you can divert the rest of your existence to finishing the damn boat! :D

Nothing like slapping down a $20 for 20 Corona's. First time I have been to a bar, where good beer was all over everyones table, and when someone entered, everyone would offer a beer or 3 to them.
Chris, don't forget, we cleaned them out by Sunday. They had to bring in more Corona's, but they where cans... Not the same.
