We are currently looking for a 2000-2002 Donzi 28ZX. We plan on using the boat mostly at Havasu and Powell. Any opinions on Donzi boats?? Not too many Donzi's in our area, but quite a few back east. Any info good or bad would be appreciated. :)

Saw one in the boat trader the other day, maybe Phx area. It was a 98', 99', or 2000, can't remember. It had twin engines and was going for around $69k. Good luck!

We did look at that boat. It was a 99 with twin 350's. Nice boat, but a little overpriced. Owner was firm in his asking price. We have a couple of good leads in FL.

Might be the kind of boat that Dick Simon Marine in California might have also. They have a website, I think that has all their current inventory. :) Like you said though, there are probably a few back East too.

Just me, but with so many nice west coast brands in that size I wouldn't go all the way to FL for a Donzi.
B-rad502, way cool on the signature graphic! smile_sp Found a buyer for the Vindicator yet?

I saw two 28ZX's in the classified section of Offshore Only last night.

I almost bought that same boat. With the scorpion motors I believe the boat will see 80 mph. I hear however that the start to chine walk real bad at around 70! I have also heard that Donzi is not real responsive to customer service. That is all I have heard. There is an interesting web site about a guys experience with Donzi customer support. If it is still out there look for blisterboat.com or search for donzi blister boat. As far as my opinion of the Donzi fit and finish I give it about a 7.5 on the 1-10 scale. You should really look closely at formula 272 fastec as well as the 28 scarab. I personally almost bought a Formula but ended up with a Scarab. Totally amazing boat. Built for the ocean. good luck
