I want the real scoop. I took the tour at Mira Loma, i have even taken a demo ride at Elsinore, and I was impressed. Keep in mind I was also impressed by Cheetah Bob when he gave me his tour in LHC. Well i'll just say cheetah was my first tour ever.
I don't know didly squat about boats as I have never owned one. I'm in the market for a Hot Boat. Not Interested in a Gayliner type boat or a Mastercrap. So I think I'm headed in the right direction.
Tell me why I should or should not buy a Eliminator. I would like to hear first hand info. Not what you think so n so didn't like about them.

Very good boats. It has been my experience that their salesmen will seriously high-ball you the first time you talk to them. If you really want one of their boats, be persistent and negotiate until they come down to a reasonable price. When I was shopping for 28' cats in 2002, they quoted me 95k for the LP with base small block power. I laughed and hung up the phone! Ended up buying a Magic cat for 30 grand less.

Do what I did. Go to Force, lots of stuff for the cash. Go check out DCB, and I would check out that new shockwave Cat. That thing looked good at the boat show, don't know if they got that thing into water yet. There are also the Arizona boat builders. Do ALOT of research and ask alot of stupid questions like I did. Get test drives with all of Mfgs.

Its really funny that the first two replies have said to shop elsewhere. Eliminator owners chime in. Lets hear your praise!

Dog House do you feel that you have less of a boat? Does the Magic do it for you or do you find yourself still drooling at the 28 Daytonas?

My last boat was an Eliminator, it was nothing crazy just a basic ski boat. Shop around, there are tons of great boats these days. Back in the day Eliminator was the shit, today I dont believe it has that same persona. Best of luck, any choice is a great choice, just get the most bang for your buck. IE somewhere else......

The boards are the shit! The ability to talk to others about huge purchases is priceless. Its rediculous that the damn prices rise each year. I guess someone is paying the price???

Name recognition is one part of it. Remember the two happiest days of a boat owners life? Some day you will sell your boat and the off the wall brand you buy today may not even be around tomorrow when you want to unload it. Mariah comes to mind right now, when we looked at deck boats in '97 the salesman told us about lifetime warrantee this and lifetime that, the company is history now. Glad we didn't buy into that BS. Eliminator has been around since '69 and a lot of people know the name, a big plus for resale. Eliminator has race boats that get TV air time, this doesn't hurt either. Eliminator is also opening stores and factories in other states which helps, remember it's not all about left coast boats, Havasu is not the only body of water on the planet. Your going to be making a large investment so you may want to consider a few of these things. Good Luck

Being a motorhead at heart, I can usually be found drooling over just about any boat that has lots of shiny go-fast hardware! ;)
IMO the 28 Daytona is worth a little more than the 28 Magic because it's a bigger boat. I'm sure that I could have negotiated the price down some, but it was clear that it would have ended up beyond my price range. Also, the size of the 28 Daytona seems best suited for twins. If you want to compare a Daytona more directly to the Magic, you would want to use the 25 or 26 instead.
I'm very happy with the Magic; as a single engine cat, it's just the right size. We boat camp a lot and the mid-cabin works well for us. I also really like the smooth lines and the full swim deck, something you can't get in many other cats. It's a great all around boat and a solid value for the price.

Make a good boat...any of them that they have rigged to run fast have...heck, just look at the 144mph 25 Daytona....Also, they have nice gels and have a number of styles and sizes to pick from....we have a 23 Eagle, and it has been a great all around boat and rides better than some boats that are larger than it.

i have to agree w/ mbrown2 in that the guys at eliminator can do some pretty unbelievable gel schemes and fades and theres no question that they make some fast ass hulls. I personally dig the overall look of their boats. 25 eagle also made a good point about their name recognition. they've been around forever and they do seem to hold some of the best resale values. in the end it's all about what blows your skirt up...

copy cats are in itself flattery. why have other boats mfg. copied thiers? And do they have the history and research expenses? I hope Eliminator is using that extra cash to continue design improvements. I agree thay are top of the line, and there are copies for less money.
I don't have the big cat, just a 21' Daytona. Am very happy with it.

No doubt Eliminator is re-investing into the company... A while back they hired Rob King(very talented designer) to redo the body line stylings and gel coat offerings on most of the eliminator product line.... and so far the only one I dont care for is the 27' with it's windshields... the new 25' daytona and larger eagle models look very nice in my humble opinion...

I personally am a fan of many builders out there. I opted for an Eliminator in the end for many reasons. As far as pricing, I got the same initial high ball price I got everywhere. The best advice is do your homework on what you think you want in a boat. What are you using the boat for and how many people will you have on it most of the time. Do you want pure performance or do you want comfort. I love my Eliminator because it does what I want and I got the goodies put on I needed and wanted.

i hear eliminator is tooling a brand new deck boat and it's going to be a little bit smaller than their 27'... i'm excited to see what it turns out like... i think their new 28' daytona is bad ass, and so is their 38' eagle.....

I love my eliminator and will always be loyal to them. When I upgrade I don't need to look else where for a new look. Eliminator has it all. I also love that they can service my boat in either Mira Loma or in Lake Havasu.

What is so good about Eliminator? Personally, I think they are always on the cutting edge of technology. 1975/76 they debuted the first modern looking tunnel boat, the 19' Daytona. They introduced what I consider to be the first "family" tunnel a few years later, and years before anyone else (the 23' Daytona). They were the first to integrate canopies in recreational tunnels (I know race boats had them first). Their gel schemes and application with fades, etc. have always been tops in the business. They build a solid boat without cutting corners. Last but not least, they have a great name (good for resale).
Having said all that, I do believe there are many boat manufactures on par with Eliminator, some perhaps better, but that is debatable. ;)

The Best !!!!! for the $$$$$$$ ,go through a Out if state dealer and the price comes way down , best resale, best handling !!!!!.
My datona 26 with canopys is the best handling boat ive ever had and iv had them all and raced for many years. I think DCB is comming on stroug though and is very close to Eliminator nowdays. So you cant go wrong with either one. You can call me anytime or come for a ride at Havasu at the Heatwave ,you will be impressed !!!!!

They have some real pretty gel coat colors. I don't know about how this compares on the west coast, but here in the Midwest, they are at the top for gel work.
Watch their rigging. I have seen some incredibly sloppy rigging.
