The current plan I have is to install 6 of the rockford batteries in my boat for the stereo. These will be stereo alone and not hooked up to either alternator.
Here are the battery specs for 1 battery:
1100 Amps
Reserve capacity: 50 Ahr
Here are a few of my concerns. Which charger can charge all 6 overnight. Also at the same time, I can use that charger when I hook up shore power at the lake to charge the batteries at a faster rate if I only have it hooked up an hour or so. I would also like to be able to leave that charger hooked up on a trickle charge while it sits in the garage. Do they make any that can do this? If I have to run 2, are there some that will do this?
Please be specific on models and brand names.
Thanks for your help!

If you're going through the trouble of adding 6 12v batteries that will be run totally seperate from your boat's charging system, why not go with 4 6 volt batteries... Trojans come to mind, but there are other brands available... The only downfall is that they are not gel batteries, but you'll get a heck of a lot more play time and less wiring... (vs parallel)
I know that froggy has been beat up about this stuff before and probably won't post, but I know the system works well. PM him or ClownPuncher for the model charger they use(d).... The batteries need to be charged at the same rate of amp draw then be held at a trickle....

The T105 is the model I've heard tossed around...
I'm pretty sure that this is the model that everyone has been using...

I have 4 Trojan T105'5 and use the Sears 60amp charger that's fully automatic. I used it all last year and it was flawless....

Do you hit each battery independently with 60 amps or do you change all 4 at the same time (15 amps each)?

All 4 over night and it's done in the a.m. for the next day no problem. On the 6v your put your cables on the 2 outside batteries.
