Fuel injected 427 Ford Cobra

Friend just converted his 427 Cobra over to electronic fuel injection. Motor is an all aluminum block & heads. Wouldn't this look bad in a v-drive ;)

Is that the Hilbourn EFI??? Or did he role his own??

Last weekend was the first time out at Las Vegas at a Shelby meet. he said it was great to drive, a lot more responsive than the carb was. He pulled one of Shelbys blown Series 1 cars like nothhing. I'm not sure the make of the system, I'll check. I know it was put together by a guy in CA, Dralle Engineering. Big $$$$$$ :eek!:

Is that a real cobra or a kit?

It's a "continuation series" Cobra. It was built last year by Shelby, but is registered as a 1965. It has a Shelby ID number as well. Bill's being CSX4266.
If I recall, the 2000 series were the small block cars, the 3000 series were big block and the 4000 are Continuation cars.

I wonder if it is one of AT Francis new intakes. He designed a Webber style intake that will retro fit to fuel injection. Beautiful car.

Pantera Specialties supplied the processor and software. The manifold is a Holman & Moody (or duplicate) Looks like Webers converted to FI.

used to work on a friends injected FE . It had a manifold that fit 48 or 52 mm webers and Hilborn made a 4 port straight stack injector that bolted right on. You can now buy weber patterned (& look like a weber carb as far as linkage, air filter mounting etc.) injector bodies for EFI from Scat, vellios. CB and others. Im putting one together with an old MOON manifold made for side drafts on a S/B chevy.
