800 hp and an Arneson. If that was in a glass hull it would really move.

That's part of what makes it custom.

what's custom about it? Looks like they build them all the same to me.
Cool looking boat but if someone else has one just like it then it's not a custom if you ask me.

I like the idea of this thing. It's a step back to custom building (pre 1970). 32 feet though, dang. It's definatly for the "dry boater".

My friend builds his own design ,and this dashboard [on a 29 Kazulin]is only in one of them ,period. The interior is also all different on each model. So it must be custom:p :D http://www3.telus.net/spectrasonly/dash.jpg

That is sweet.....it appears that all of the Van Dam boats are
works of art, and are even more upscale than the Hackercrafts.
Damn thing looks almost too good to get wet......
wonder what it weighs???

I could build a custom instrument with this lathe of mine [swiss made Bergeon] ,but would cost as much as the BOAT:D :D :D http://www3.telus.net/spectrasonly/bergeon%20lathe.1%20copy.jpg

for interested peeps, here is their web site
www.vandamwoodcraft.com
there are lots of models. Not really my thing, but quite
the craftsmen.
You almost have to have a full time **$$%$ to keep
those in in pristine condition.

I remember the boat to be 800k. The boat was cool to look at, but own it? NEVER!
Maybe a wealthy somebody that lives in arrowhead or some other type lake would buy it for a show piece. :yuk:

That boat is wicked gorgeous. Windshield is gay though. They could have done better than that. Where are my polo and alligator shirts? Found my topsiders and plaid pants but the ****in` shirts? Hmmmmm,,,,maybe that catfish hole to China.

HOSS, if you go high end enough on the boat, you don't even need to wear pants. People just assume it's all part of the encentricity required to be able to afford a boat like that.

I talked to the guy at the L.A. boat show and thats pretty much what he said. His cliental don't have to ask how much, usually own a mega yacht, or a palace on the water somewhere.
I thought that Genesis 32 had some real potential if it gets rolling, based on the one I saw at the show. It had some neat ideas like a walk thru transum, and storage compartment/seat in the back at the swimstep, that I havn't seen on customs before.

Really, I will have to look into one then. For catfishing of course.

I was talking to the builder and he said it took some ungodly amount of man hours to build one, something like 4500 hours. If I remember correctly, his exact words were, "Four and one half thousand hours." He also said that they have not sold one yet.
