KFlat, where does all of the water come from, and is that an annual event? does it ever get up to your house?
Lots of questions, but that looks like it could do some damage.

All the water is rain runoff and comes from the Sacramento River. During the winter months Lake Shasta has to stay at a certain level even though they can hold more. As soon as April 1st rolls around they will hold everything back for the summer. Its not usually a yearly event unless we have continuous rain or it decides to rain at 6000' where the snow is. We've had it flood 3 times in one year here. We have a levee around the main complex of buildings and houses. Normally it will hold water out but we do get some seapage and have to run ditch pumps (not jet related). Back in 84 it actually came over the levee and flooded my house and my parents. Mom's house you opened the front door in 6" of water. The main part of my house was dry but the lower back room had about 10" of water in it. Somewhere there is a picture of all the parents sitting at the bar in my back room in rubber boots. Classic photo. Largest damage would be to the orchards, wheat, and other crops that do not like the large amount of water for long periods. We have about 2-3 acres of onions that are planted but only time will tell if they survive.

Just out of curiosity how deep is it? A couple of feet?

Depends where you are. Behind the house in the slough is about 25' or more. In front of the house can be 6" or up to 4' in the center of the driveway. Anything over 4.5' the tractor will float. Average depth I would say is 2.5' enough for a pickup to float in the current.

Ok, just got back from taking the kids to school. I took my Lifted PU and couldn't keep it straight going down the road. When the kids got out of the truck at school, the rain blew inside the truck and SOAKED the interior....it's raining and blowing that hard! The Elkhorn Causeway, which is on I-5 between Woodland and the Sacramento Airport, is flooded with wind gusts reported at 70 mph. The CHP are escorting cars through there. Big Rigs are being held at SR 113 for sb traffic and not being allowed over the causeway right now. However, the worst of the storm is supposed to hit in 2 to 3 hours, about the time Mrs BBT heads to school. Since she has to go to Sacramento Via I-5, she isn't gonna go due to the flooding on the causeway and the dangerous winds. So, anyway, I 'm on my way back from taking the kids to school and am in line of cars at a 4 way stop. BOOOOOOMMMM! I hear a loud noise. The car RIGHT BEHIND me had a HUGE Oak Limb fall of a tree and land on their hood. I got out and made sure they were ok...they were so I got the hell outta Dodge. I get home, and my portable carport over the Biesemeyer is COMPLETELY GONE!!!! At this point, there isn't much I can do with the boats but hope that they come out ok when it's all over with. I also lost some Vinyl siding off my house (It has vinyl siding all the way around), lost 1 gutter, and MANY shingles off the roof (Cedar shake). I was planning on redoing the roof anyways this summer.....hopefully it holds out.

I hear ya Hud! This is a nasty one. Thunderstorms this afternoon too. I was just looking at the Lightning hits and it looks like it just made land up in NorCal. Here's a pretty cool site where you can check out current data on lightning strikes http://www.lightningstorm.com/tux/jsp/gpg/lex1/mapdisplay_free.jsp

This is a changing image from my webcam but notice the water on the inside of the levee just from the rain. The water forcast isn't good since they are predicting 1.5 higher than last time.
