I have two Scorpion 377 engines which are actually 6.2L. I have about 110 hours on each so far and I'm very happy with them. They are rated 350HP at the prop. I'm turning 25 pitch lab finished Mirage +'s on a 28ft Donzi ZX. Speedometer shows 80Mph at about 5000 rpm's. The boat weighs approx 6500lbs.

HeavyPour,
How do you like your Donzi??? I'm looking at the 22zx and 26zx. Just curious.

Speedy,
I am very pleased with my Donzi and would recommend anyone thinking of purchasing a performance boat to consider Donzi. I boat in the mid Chesapeake Bay in southern Maryland and usually have some chop to deal with, and this boat does exceptionally well. My former boat was a 22 Formula which was a nice boat too except a little small for this area. If your luck is like mine, you will sooner or later end up somewhere a long way from home when it will start blowing a gale. Now, unless the weather gets really bad, I can still run a decent speed and not get beat to death. I was also pleasantly surprised to find that my fuel consumption increased by only about 50% when I went from single 454 to twin 377's.
Dwight,
All I know is that the 377 is 6.2 liters and I think this is the only in-production 6.2, but I may be wrong. I do know there is a higher HP model being developed, but I don't think its available. Go here to see the specs on the 377. If the link doesn't come out right, check the Mercury Marine Sight under Performance Outdrive Combinations. http://www.mercurymarine.com
