Ok guys I need your valued opinion. I have narrowed my choice to two different cams and would like to hear ANY comments. SpecÂ’s are 454 Mark IV, 9.2 compression ratio, 781 large oval ports with large valves, IMCO Power Flow exhaust. I/0, max RPMS 5,200. Any problems with water coming back into exhaust?
#1 Comp Cam 11-242-3 224 intake 230 exhaust @.50, Lift 515 intake, 520 exhaust on a 110 centerline.
#2 Crane 134242 226 intake 236 exhaust @.50, Lift 534 intake 553 exhaust, on a
112 centerline.

I would go with the 2nd choice.
I have a comp similar to the first one you posted and I like it but I would run the 2nd one if I had that setup.

That cam will work. It should go in at 108 (advanced +4)

Due to people always buy too large a camshaft, and that the cam grinders (Crane in particular) know this, degree the camshaft by Intake lobe center method. Chances are, you'll find it already is advanced.

I'd go with the second since they are stock OEM's. I would also put a 1.8 rocker on the intakes. Makes a big difference. Fiat I will have to respectfully disagree with the centerline method for the fact that most lobes are now asymetrical and with centrline you can be off. I would use the duration method and degree in using the valve events. In fact this is what Crane recommends to do in the back of their book. But as far as degree, Fiat is correct, never assume anything always degree the camshaft.
