I just bought my dream boat a 1985 daytona eliminator, its setup for a BB chevy which the original and only owner cracked by not winterizing it right in 1987 so the boat has been in storage ever since.
Problem is I need to sell my 77 wriedt maverick to put a new motor in the daytona, I also want to switch over the new place diverter to the daytona.
The pump its on now is a JC the pump its going on is a JG.
Can I rotate the axis on the JG to make it work??(bolted on plate)
I have a jetovator on the daytona now, but reason for the switch is to add a droop snoot and maybe power trim soon I need to use the new style diverter plus its got the built in ride plate.
Now can I put the jetovator on the JC pump?
Is it ok to rotate the JC bowl to change the axis to accept the jetovator?
Thanks in advance!

The answer is YES to both questions.
What colors are your Daytona?

its white with the blue stripes, no cracks, looks like it just came from the factory! Cant wait to find a motor for it so I can test her out!
Also think for the money its was a great deal, only $6000!!

Cool
Hey, if he Cracked the Block why don't you pick up a new or used one & use all other parts over, you could save alot ?
Got any pics of your Daytona ?

I hope you are running a manual diverter. There is no other way!!! There is nothing better than grabbing that manual handle and shoving it up to blast some jet skiier into oblivion. It just seems quicker to me than a hydraulic unit.

HotHallet,
How smooth does your Diverter work, they go down easy but what about full up under power ? (mine's a Bitch)

Not bad! A little harder than a hydraulic but way more fun. Actually a hydraulic is effortless but it just seems kind of sissyish. There is just something about hitting a button that does not seem like that much fun. Gotta have a manual. My boat will NEVER have a hydraulic diverter!

well if its not bad I guess I should look at my Cable, something must be Binding, those last few clicks are BAD. I have the handel from a Flatbottom(for Cav. Plate), the one where you pull up on the "T" then push forward/Back, not a Place Diverter Part, I guess I should look at that Too ?

Wet77, is it a 21' Daytona? If so you'll really enjoy the ride that Hull offers. Plan on putting some power to that boat...takes some speed before that hull starts to work.

He had the motor out of the boat and was in a different location than where the boat was.(drove 4000 miles round trip to pick up boat)
The daytona has a manual shifter next to the stringer
In my other boat YES I do love having a manual shift but in the daytona if you grab the top of the handle and shift forward you slam your hand into the dash!!
I am looking at relocating it closer to the front edge of the seat, that might be tonights project.
Then if I still dont like it its going to power trim
I would love to show you all pics, if I could send them to someone and they could postem that would be awesome!!

Yes its a 21 daytona, I road in a friend of mines daytona and loved how it handled the chop plus just the style of the hull really makes me love that boat
I was thinking of switching to a rail mount setup for the motor seeing as how I will never sell this boat, I figure go for the good stuff now!

A manual diverter is nice is a slow boat, but if he puts some power to that daytona, he will want to keep both sets of white knuckles on the wheel

I live in Stevens Point WI and drove to Monroe Washington to purchase the boat, drove back through a snow storm and thunderstorm in the process!!
I just got done attaching the place diverter off of my other boat onto the daytona, and I pulled out the manual diverter shifter.
Saturday I will put the jetovater on the maverick.
Man I love workin on boats!!
I can send someione some pics of my new boat if they could post them for me?
Thanks:cool:

here is the hydrolic kit from Rex Place Kit (http://www.rexmar.com/page128.html)
I could'nt find the steering wheel switch but if you call Rex I know they have them in stock, I have one on my boat and love it. No matter what Hot Hallet says at least I can hold a frosty one in one hand, steer and still be able to fire at the lake lice without have to put my frosty one down:p :D

LMAO. Hustler, define lake lice. Thats some funny shit even though I don't know what you are referring to. If youre anything like me, you sound like you spray people with your rooster tail.

Taylorman, Lake Lice are jet skiers, you know the farging eiseholes who jump your wake and get way to close to your boat.
