I was wondering which cylinder to put an exhaust temp probe on. Is one cyl. better than another?
bbc with 8-71 in a v-drive boat front of engine is faces back of boat. I have been told that #2 cyl. is the one to use because of the way the air comes off of the rotors, #2 cyl runns leanest. Does every one agree, if not why?

I have mine on #7. I have been told by a few people that 5&7 run the leanest because they fire right after eachother thus one robbing more fuel away from the other. When the fuel goes into the manifold 5 pulls fuel away from 7 making 7 the leanest. Just what I have been told. Lets see if anyone else has there opinion. Hope that helps.

On a natural asperated engine #6 is the hot cylinder per race engine builders.

On my blown bbc, 871 on alcohol, my lean cyls on the dyno were #1 and #6. Tuned the motor from them with exhaust probes in both of them.
