Have you ever been to Beatty or Searchlight Nevada, the Glamis Beach Store, or Pair A Dice bar in Gordons Well?
All are struggling desert towns with a very bad attitude.
The Glamis Beach store hates it's customers. As does all Business' in Beatty/Searchlight and Gordons Well.
I mention this because many Hot Boaters are duners too, and often pass through these towns.
Spend money and get hated for it.
The Glamis Beach store is under a boycott because they refused to help a lost 9 year old girl that went in the store for help. I leaned on the family deluxe to press charges against the store (a stunt like that can easily get their booze license lifted at the least, Sheriffs permit to operate could evaporate too with a little effort).
Their's mothers on this board that would have killed the Beach Store owners for that stunt.
The other towns are just full mean people that hate you for coming in and spending money in their town.
I've wanted to be a documentary film maker and I think this would be a good subject to start with.
I've never met so many crummy people in my life than when I stopover in these places.
My group dropped an easy 2 bones at the bar Saturday, and we were hated for it.
Any other bad town stories?http://www.hotboatpics.com/pics/data/500/3812P1010060-med.JPG
Pair A Dice Cafe/Bar in South Gamis Dunes.
The bars are very wide so you can't reach over and punch the asshole employees.

You want to take that post and send it somewhere that I bet you get heard?
Our senator here in Nevada, Harry Reid, was born and raised in Searchlight. He is one of the most senior Senators on Congress, He is pretty cool even though he is a democrat.
I bet though that he would take your comments to heart and bend some ears.

The Beach Store is also boycotted because they wouldn't do anything to help keep the dunes open. They still wont. No ASA literature about the closure and what people can do to keep it open. No info about anything. Bunch of fukin' billy's need to just wither up and die, but everytime I'm out there the parking lot is full. Gotta love a business that makes money hand over fist and does nothing to support the people who support them...

Stop at the 76 station in Searchlight, and mingle around the store, look over the beef jerky or something and eves drop on the cashiers..
It's better than the Jerry Springer show listening to the employees talk to the travelers doing business there.
The traveler asks a question, then gets called every name but a Child of God by the employee.
I bought a omlete at one place. The menu didn't say what was in it. The cook told me it's filled with "all kinds of shit".
In Parker, it was the owner of the 49'r Pizza giving crap to boaters parking in his parking lot.
He's been closed for several years.
The past owner of River Threads in Parker is on my list too. A real piece of work when she talks to her customers. A split tongue Viper.
Spend money, recieve venom.

..this may be WAY out there but, wasn't Glamis being sold or something and the only store there going to be bye bye as a result? I thought I remember something to that.....?...

The store has been for sale as long as I can remember. They wanted a couple of million for it ten years ago:rolleyes: I'm sure it's gone up since then, but no takers yet.

I believe the Glamis Beach Store is for sale but not the Dunes.

I make it a point to NEVER buy anything in the Glamis Beach Store. They can rot in hell for all I care. They would love to see the dunes shut down for all duners. They think they could survive off the nature lovers and hikers I just hope it never comes to this.
Also this past weekend I launched at the marina and this asshole comes and tells me and everyone else on the launch that our boats are to loud. Complete bullshit. I've been launching there forever and he seems to be the only one that wants to be a badass. Luckily for him Im alot older and wiser than my younger days or I might have taken it to a different level. It would however be nice to see this guys clock cleaned even if he is 60 years old.

Jeanie Boardman owns Boardmanville. She's not associated either the Beach store, or BLM land.
Boardmanville is a beer bar, with a nasty ass shit hole frozen/nuke'd pizza window close by.
Her's (B'ville) is private property adjacent to the dunes.
Jeanie Boardman is always nice to me,, but usually asks me to change her beer kegs, and muscle**** other stuff too.
I've heard others say she's a B***h.
Never seen her act that way, and I've been married to plenty of them.
Always sweet to me.

My wife and I spent a couple of days in Beatty NV. 2 years ago. We were touring Death Valley and had plans on staying at Furnace Creek Ranch, since they were booked up we stayed at the main Hotel in Beatty. We were treated very nice, no complaints at all, in fact we had a great time at the casino & lounge. Bartender was very friendly and accomodating even comping us free drinks. The lounge had a live band that was pretty good for being in the middle of nowhere. Everyone we came in contact with [hotel, gas station, grocery store and tire shop] were all very nice to us. Would I go back? Hell yes, we had a great time there, not one bad experence.

A few years back a group of us headed to Buckskin on the strip. I had never been there and thought that the facility was nice and clean. One of our group had an old 16' Commander O/B and a homegrown trailer that needed a paint job. he's not one to waste an ounce of daylight, so he launches the boat and procedes to take the trailer back to the campsite and paint it.
All the time this is going on, he's listening to the stereo and drinkin beers (what else). Two old farts are acting as the Camp hosts. They each have a pair of binoculars and watch every movement my buddy makes. He'd been painting and drinking for a while and decided it was time to take a piss. He looked around and found a corner and relieved himself. The two old fogies watched THE ENTIRE TIME and then called the park ranger to have him arrested for indecent exposure and SEX CRIMES. The told him they wanted him arrested and registered as a sex offender!
The Ranger just rolled his eyes and asked that he keep it in his pants for the rest of the weekend, then he gave us a list of the times we let our dogs off the leash to chase a frisbee, laughed too loud, or generally had a good time. He said to watch ourselves because "they'll be watching us". We flipped em off everytime we saw them for the rest of the weekend. Freedom of speach and all...
