The Advantage comes home tomorrow after being at A1 Uphostery for a little over 3 weeks. All new wood, glassed seat frames, carpet..... even added more cupholders! The design I came up with is a cross between old school (original) and updated.
Here she is before

I'll post the "after" shot tomorrow.

You can never have too many cup holders!!!!!:D

Too true! This boat is more suited to cocktail cruises than speed runs. With it only having 2 cupholders before, several party fouls were blamed on the (lack of) equipment.

"Why did he show this shot?" Why ELSE would I have them raise the scoop 2 inches? :D

Bottom line.... does it still say "old school" a little?

A lot of times, a design you have in your mind isn't as good in reality. This came out exactly as I envisioned it. Thanks to Raul at A-1 marine for the great work!
Next weekend will be it's first time out after the work. Closing escrow on the place in BHC, so if you're on the river, come on by for a few. Just beach it at Lazy Harry's.... you're just a few houses away.

Hey roost,
I like it.
The white makes it look modern, but the totally 80's colors keep it lookin classic!!!!
now you need a mullet, and some Oakley Razors and you will be set!!!

Looks a lot better. Awesome choice on the colors and the way you used them.

I wanted to keep some classic in it. Raul talked me out of yellow for the base color (thank God).
I gave up the mullet A LONG time ago, and can't see myself in another any time soon! My goggle of choice is Icicles (never did wear Oakleys..... couldn't justify the price), but I'm not afraid of old school in general.
Next project (next winter) is a new intake. The CJ may have to go in favor of either a good single plane, or a Stealth. I'm going to try a 2" carb spacer and see if it gives me more RPM. The boat budget is tapped for this year..........

Looks nice!
Good combo of old school with a dash of the new. It fits the style of the boat.
What's going under the scoop?

Right now, not a hell of a lot! It has a warmed over 460, .040 over, cammed, D3VE's with some port work, CJ intake, 750DP, and LOGS. Can't bring myself to switch to OTs and lose the engine cover (must be getting old), or put out the $$$$$ for jacketed headers.

I have a closed bow 21ft I/O that I would like to redo. Currently it has the old school set-up with two jump seat beside the engine cover and back to backs in front. It is in great shape but I would like to update it with a bench across the back and two buckets up front. What do you think I should expect to pay for it. I used to do finish woodwork and have a huge shop at my disposal so I was thinking of building the seats and engine cover myself. Do most shops dislike this or would it be a great way to safe money. Thanks for any advice. Also if anyone has pictures of their seats when they are bare wood I would like to see them.
