Sweet looking engine. If it runs half as good as it looks it'll be a winner.

Looks good! :D But where's the scoop? :p
I'm sure if we all went on the first ride the GPS# would be lower than the last time he checked.
Sure to look BITCHEN when it's all together!

533 hp at 5100 rpm
599 ft/lbs of torque at 4,300 rpm
501 c.i. Ford
Edel. Performer RPM aluminum heads
Weiand tunnel ram-two 600 cfm 4150 style dp carbs
4.140 stroke Eagle crank-H-beam rods
9.6:1 compression SRP 28cc inverted dome pistons
.030 over
Lunati camshaft duration at .050 is 235 on int. and exh.
lift is 560 at .050 on intake and exhaust
With a fresh pump with a B+ impeller and the addition of a droop, shoe & ride plate, and a new loader I am hoping for a solid 75-maybe 80 with just me and minimal fuel.

Very nice ford you have there.

That sounds good, hopefully we are up there the same time again this year. I think your boat would be a good race with our new Hondo, we have a real mild 427 we're dropping in it. Hope to see 80-85 with it, should make a fun little river boat. We spend a lot of time up at the Kings river and our Cole is a little too radical for the cops up there, and most the boats are 60-70mph jets so we should be able to beat most of them

Are you going to run headers? Did Lunati recommend the cam? It appears to me that you don't have enough camshaft. Usually Lunati throws big numbers for a engine of this size. Did it peak horsepower at 5100? My SBC 400 with 9.3 CR made 450 hp at 5700 rpm's. I was running an Erson 268 deg. at .050 and .562 lift installed at 102 deg. The best speed was obtained by running an "A" impeller at 5000 rpm.
Don't get me wrong I am not being critical, just wondering why such a small cam.

American Turbine- This is what Lunati recommended when I set out to build the motor. Others have told me it is a bit on the small side. Maybe a few years down the line I will upgrade but for now it should be a good runner. Good amount of horsepower with dependability. I am happy with the set-up.

Nice set-up.
You have used all the right components for making a high horsepower engine, but then went conservative on the cam and carbs. It will last forever.
Also, because of the hardware used, you can easily get another 100Hp with nothing more than a cam and carb change.
