I have this beautiful 505 cu in Genty turbo engine taking up space in my garage, seems like it should be in a boat this summer. I can make a deal to freshen it up if the buyer wants.
I also have a brand new Gentry turbo kit, with exhaust, turbos, intercooler, carb boxes and intake, all new stuff, looking for a new home. While the Gentry stuff is not cheap, you can make lots of reliable power with it.
You can email for prices and details direct at agt001@aol.com

Hallett, I've seen this engine. It came out of a schiada 20. It would be just right in that schiada 21 you have.

I'm not worried about it. just if you happen to be in the neighborhood.
The boat is right side up:) and the motor is done. Just have some more stuff to buy for the Jet. Going to try and get it carpeted this weekend.
How's your motor deal going? Getting close?

Barry, got a couple of questions for you. The comlete 505 motor is that like a half inch stroke .30 over tall deck too get to that combination ?? I have a Hallett Vector that has a 496 tall deck G.T. / Richard Lee motor in it. From what I have been told you probably worked on it at one time. ( Wally Clearman's ) old boat.
How difficult would it be to freshen up that motor and, change over to a manifold with electronic fuel injection, and build a complete drop in spare for my boat. I don't really have a problem with carburetors, but i am very happy with how turn key this boat is with the injection. I'm not a very good typist so if you want to call me, I am at work at 760-922-5033 I should be there from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm your time thanks Richard.

As a guide, I thought Green w/envy had a 496 GT/Lee for about 50k. I'd take the two bits. Both are awsome motors...

Burt
I would jump at 2 bits if he meant 25k,,, but I am sure he was offering 25c..... I have had a couple of people talking to me off the board,, but still waiting for someone to "show me the money". Pretty hard to beat $7500 for a NEW Gentry kit (worth almost $13k), or $15k for an engine that would cost $35k to build new.

dammit.
i had $70 bucks saved up and was gonna call you tomorrow with the other $5. I was gonna tell you I thought it was too cheap after I got it in the truck and paid you.
guess i'll go buy gas for my truck instead.

Gas might cost you more than that now days? I got the new 2 page Rex catalog yesterday in the mail.....

Rexone, remember a few years back when you pulled a skier in either a circle or marathon, and they offered you $20 or $40 and would help wash the boat? I topped off last week in NV and it cost over $400. If it weren't for the wind on Lake Mead, I probably would have used all that and then some...

Yes I remember, lol.
I can't even fill my suburban for $80 (which is why I thought Barrys turbo was such a good deal for $75). ;)
Enjoy your catalog Barry. That was all I could afford after buying gas. lol.

I'm kind of kicking in around depending on what I find when I pull apart the blower engine in my 21' Schiada... My thoughts, it's pretty bad ass with the blower but TT's add to the pimp factor. :D

I originally switched from an 8-71 blower to the turbos after breaking a crank while racing,, and previously getting a noise ticket at Parker while I was gently warming up the engine with open headers.

Obnoxious- how tall is that motor? Do you think it would fit under a hatch of a 28 Howard Bullet? I am really kicking around the idea to do a twin turbo bullet like KillerV--definately a bad ass setup.
What kind of power is that motor making?

If I remember correctly, the engine is 39" from the top of the intercooler to the bottom of the pan, or perhaps about 20" from the top of the block to the top of the intercooler. This particular engine never went on the dyno, but a 481 cu in that I worked on for a friend's boat made 1079 hp. I always told people mine was making somewhere between 900 and 1000 hp, but I prefer to guess on the short side rather than overdo it.
You can email me directly at: agt001@aol.com if you would like more information, or photos of the kit components. Turbos have the added advantage of being quiet, and fairly easy on components if you keep them fed with enough fuel.
