No motor yet, the deal we made was with the 496 mag still debating to upgrade to the 496 ho. This boat took all of our budget and than some to get into, so not sure if going to the ho will be worth it. It's a 5000.00 upgrade for 50 hp The lavey's are supposed to be a fast hull,Jef at lavey said we will not be disapointed with the 496 mag. Thanks for the coments. We are not that concerned with top end speed we were looking for more of a smooth ride, If I can get a strong 65mph I think I will be happy. They say most boating is done between 35 and 50 so we will see.

Congratulations man!! You are so better off with the 24 instead of the 21 and YES, YES, YES, get the H.O.!!!! You will NOT go wrong with the extra HP!! and besides, what's another 30 bucks a month on top of your loan. I have the 26 NuEra, cuddy open with the H.O. I like it, but am totally used to the power now, and am in need of more hp. Always want more,

CC... Congratulations! I was in the shop and say your boat on Friday afternoon - absolutely gorgeous. I think that ProCharger already makes a system for both the 496 mag and the HO so you could always upgrade later and get a lot more than 50 hp for your 5000.00. Welcome to the family....

Yes they do, 5 psi brings the 375 hp to 580 est.
3.5 Psi available also for those less thrill-seeking.
Congratulations, the boat looks great

Nice boat. I would opt for as much power as you can afford from the get go. You will never look back and say I wish I would have opted for less HP. My $.02

When did lavey stop making the 24 with a full built in a deck, or can you get it either way?

Nice ride. I have always loved the Lavey's. Very clean looking. Dont sweat the HO, 5K for 50 hp would make me think too. I went with the HO on my ride but I planned it that way all along.
:D

CC32, put it this way, you will not be dissapointed with the 496 mag. In my opinion it's not worth the extra $5,000 (unless money is no object what so ever). My 25' Advantage will get up to 63-65 mph with the 496 MAG. By the way that is a sweet ass ride.

Mercury's web page say's option on the 496 and 496ho, but say the bravo 1 is good up to 400 hp, the ho has 425 dosent make sense to upgrade to the ho if it's not rated for the bravo 1, would lavey do that?

According to Mercury's Website the 496HO comes with the 1X, but for the MAG it only lists Bravo 1, 2, & 3. My MAG came with the 1X though, and I thought all 496MAGs did. Not sure how up to date that website is though, because I thought the Bravo 3 was discontinued. I could be mistaken though.
