We bought the Schiada 397, probably won't ski race it, but turn it into a lake cruiser, turned the observers seat around so my wife would ride, would like to put a partial floor in it and a back seat if possible. 1100 hp Gentry twin turbo is awesome power.
The trailer frame is sprung so will need to replace it, it does have torsion axles and disk brakes, so maybe can salvage with a new frame??

That's a nice boat. What will you be doing with the RC you bought last year at Parker Oil??? :)

The RC is now in Alaska. We towed it from Parker to Bellingham, Wa, took the ferry to Haines, Alaska, then towed it another 700 miles to our home near Anchorage. Just got back last week. Now putting in a Rex thermostat so we can get some water/oil temperature in the twin turbo, and will probably need to disconnect the oil cooler. The lake we live on will be frozen to the end of April (just drove across it last night???). We do love the Schiada RC v-drives!!! Here's a shot of the stern of the 397.

I like the tall ski tow that you have. Sweet ride. For the price you got the boat, even if you paid full price that Cummins was asking, you can put a new trailer under her and still be ahead. Sorry to hear that you're changing the observer seat around. It's not for everyone, but I like riding backwards as much as I like driving, or skiing for that matter. When the driver reaches over bumps you on the arm, you know that you're going airborne. That's all you need to know.
Enjoy your ride. What are you doing with the ballast tank that it came with? If you can get any plumbing pictures up, I would be interested. I'm thinking about doing this to mine, but with 100 gallon marathon tanks on board, my Schiada comes with ballast tanks. It's a Cadillac on the water when fuelled.

Bob,
Jeff who sold the blue/white Schiada turned me on to this boat. It was advertised over at nwsra.net as SGettmann had previously posted.
SGettman,
Hats off to the observers in ski racing. I rode in that seat while taking a test ride with John Cummings, it's about all you can do to hang on. I think the ballast tank is glassed in so it will stay there. We're not planning to go back to Parker until September so I'll take some pics when we return and post them. Here's a couple more pics.

Nice looking ride, long steering column, clean engine. I'm getting all excited, but need to chill. Similar set up to what I have. May be a bit tight on the back seat idea. I have one for mine, but it looks retarded and the the back seat bumps up against the front seat. Plus, it's a pain to check the plugs with the back seat in there.
I noticed that it was posted that the inside was recently gell coated. Any idea on who does this and what prep work needs to be done? I have the motor out of mine, so it wouldn't take much to tear the V-drive and hardware out and take Flat Busted in to have the inside regelled. I have some gell coat cracks in the stringers (cosmetic), but figure it's worth grinding those out and having her done fresh while I'm in the process of motor rebuilding. Thanks for any suggestions on this.

Sean,
Yes, those are the fiberglass marathon tanks. I imagine that is going to be one expensive fillup. I wasn't that excited about the interior gelcoat work so didn't ask who did it. It looks okay but the transom gel over plywood looks a little funky. Here's a pic of what I'm describing

Bob,
Hope you are enjoying the Spectra as much as we did, we spent a lot of weekends and evenings in that boat. Will let you know when we are going down again, probably not until September.
