All models with Tail-gates 01-04, Silverado's, HD's, Avelanches, I think only full size models

My 78 Blazer cable gave away last summer. Why do they use plastic on these newer work trucks? I`m sticking with rebuilding the old ones. It`s much cheaper and stronger.

I've seen a lot of Chevy trucks where I work (general contractor)
You can just about count on
96-99 :
door handle breaking off
tail gate handle breaking
blown manifold gasket before 150K
broken 4l60e before 150k
wiper motor contacts breaking
various interior knobs or handles breaking
2000+
broken tailgate straps
broken tailgate handle
wierd tapping and piston slap noises
4L60e probably still sucks
probably a few other things we haven't figgered out yet.
I'm not saying Ford is any better, but after the work GM trucks I have driven, it would have to be a real good deal to drive another.
I wish Toyota would have sent us a pickup version of the FZJ-80 (93-97 cruiser). Most folks get 200k-300k before any major mechanical work and that's with the gas motor.

And i just bought an 04.I heard of a recall on some of the 04 trannys something about the front pump or something i think it affected 8k trucks(4l80 tranny)

Chevy/Isuzu historically has stronger more economical motors.....Ford has a more work oriented build and look...IMO

Your wish is coming true. Toyota will release late next year a 3/4 ton truck based on the Cruiser chassis, and a bigger V8 than whats offered now.
