OK, I just finished the first "CoolProp" propeller cover ! They're made of the same material my canopies are made of...urethane-backed canvas, with 1" foam to protect the sharp edges of the prop., and elastic cord for a tight fit. You can use em while towing to protect from rocks, or at the Sandbar so no one gets cut, or just to look cool ! They come in all sizes and colors, for $25 plus shipping. I'll also do custom screen printing on them for an extra $12. I'm gonna have some already made in different colors with some standard quotes...."Got River" "Remove 4 River"'River Rat"...any other ideas ??
AND...for all Hot Boat members, I'll throw in a free prop cover when you order a canopy from me...just tell me what colors you want !
Hey Waldo..you just placed your canopy order so I'll make you one too...is blue w/gray trim OK ?

What about sewing some handles on them similar to the ones teague sells so they are easier to carry???

BTW, Do you make covers for dangerous mother-in-laws?:D

They don't seem to protect the prop very well. That prop is ratty as shit. :(
Jeff, will you ship by post to Canada?

Jeff, that sounds great and looks great as well!!! If it matters, my prop is 4-blade 22p. Thanks for all the design help. I look forward to getting my canopy.

Hey Jeff, did you get a chance to take pictures of your bow and cockpit covers?
And, can you make them out of vinyl? Or is that stupid?

Hey JRocket...and anyone else interested, to order one, just PM me with your prop size info, and what colors you want. I forgot I had a PayPal account, so that would probably be easier to use, let me know !!
Tom Brown...hey that's my best prop !! Nah that one was on it's way to the prop shop after the pics were taken. Good observation though ! And yeah, I'll ship to Canada..let me know what you want.
Waldo..the prop in the pic is a 4-blade also, so it'll fit !
Mirvin...Sorry I didn't get a chance to take pics yet...I will get on it this weekend though. I wouldn't suggest vinyl, it won't last as long as Sunbrella or other canvas materials made for the outdoor elements.
Blown 472, good idea !! Yours is on the way, I made it in black with a white WINNEBAGO logo stitched in the middle. :p
HighRoller....I thought of that but I don't know any jet boaters. Bring your jet boat down so I can get a measurement and you can have the prototype...deal ?

You know your competitor in this product puts in grommets so you can put a bicycle cable lock through it to keep it on the prop. I have two of them...
I think it was www.proppak.com but it was a couple of years ago...
Anyway that is a very nice feature... just food for thought if you don't already include that.

Would help to have lots of extra pading for v-drive boats with the prop underneath. Protect it from road debris.

THATJEFFGUY

OK, I've changed them a little...they now have handles on the back by the elastic cord so you can carry them if you remove your prop. I'll post some pics later.

Jeff, These are the props I run. I put the tape on the biggest one to give an idea of the size. The propshaft is 1 1/8"
I'll take one in black and if you want you can put some red piping or something like that on it.
Thanks! Oh, i'll post it on the v drive forums soon as I get it.
No rush for it.

Chase
03-24-2004, 10:56 AM
YES!!
Anyways...What keeps these covers flat on the back, is there something rigid in there so these things don't stay in the nice shape they are in the picture.
What about the water that comes out of the leg...will these retain the water (I suppose if it is female) or will it drain. This brings up another question relating to my first one..... will the water effect the shape of the covers

I see that, but what keeps them flat??

OGShocker

Chase,
I think it is the 1' of foam.
Check your PM's

Chase
03-24-2004, 11:50 AM
OK....If I was manufacturing these units, I would place a piece of thin plastic (1/16" or so) between the fabric and the foam to ensure there is always a firm flat surface...especially if there is writing on there.

I got mine!
First off I would like to say dealing with Jeff was kick ass. He was very prompt with e-mails back and forth. Next thing I know he sends me a pic of the prop bags I ordered.
Mine are kinda odd balls and I'm kinda shocked Jeff even wanted to mess with it. I mean, just how many people are running a 2 blade prop these days?
Anyway they came out great from what he had to go by. I think my next ones I'll ask for a draw cord over the handles and ask for the back and ends to be padded as well.
My needs are a little different as my prop is under the boat. I want the padding on the back side to help with rock dings and that kind of stuff that comes from towing. Really you should remove a v drive prop before you tow it but well, you know how that goes after a long day at the lake.
Anyway here is a few pics of my bag.

Tee...you need a canopy ? Gimme a call ! 888.903.COOL
Mine are comparable to the "EZ-Up Eclipse II" model. These aren't the cheapo models at Sam's/Costco that you'll be replacing every summer though. Mine are made of t6 aluminum and steel legs and sliders....NO plastic parts !! Also, the waterproof, "urethane-backed canvas" tops come in a variety of colors, not just RED, WHITE, and BLUE...and will definitely outlast any EZ Up ! AND you can also bring em to my shop for frame or top repair IF they get damaged. I know EZ-Up's have been around awhile, but my canopies are better quality, custom built to order, and are MADE IN THE USA ! I'm sure several members here will tell you, I have an excellent product. The price for a basic (2) color canopy is:
8x8 - $299
10x10 - $399
10x15- $479
10x20 - $589
15x20 - $799
Here are the colors I have available:
RED / WHITE / BLACK / GRAY / SILVER / NAVY BLUE / ROYAL BLUE / YELLOW/ ORANGE/PURPLE/TEAL/GREEN
I specialize in custom graphics to match your boat, custom designs, or screen printing...we do it all ! Actualy, we're stitching one now for one of the HB forum members to match his boat graphics...I'll post a pic as soon as it's done. Call me for more info

I got mine in with with the "Summer Love" logo on the front - it turned out better than I expected, and in fact, for $47 I thought it was a deal.
It will make leaving the spare in the boat much easier knowing it won't get destroyed or it won't destroy anything around it now.
Jeff, thanks again and I hope you received my check....
Now, what's the deal on the canopys? Are they like easy-ups or are they different? I have an easy up that I take along with me but it's heavy (and it's only 7x7) and bulky. What's the difference???

Yeah I can put "SUMMERLOVE" on either (1) side or all (4) sides.

Had one of these also. I use it for when we are in the water so my little one doesn't get cut by it (labbed props are a little sharper!).
Had it two weekends, the 2nd weekend I had it, I forgot it was on, backed up and heard all this awful noise....I can attest that a prop will eat it up.
I'm going to need another one. But, is there a way to make one with molded plastic or something? The water that gets into the foam stays in there forever. Or is there a less water soluble material?

Hey Loco..when it gets wet, just take it off and stand on it for a sec and the water comes outta the foam. I do that all the time..no problems. And I'm sure molded plastic is possible, but more costly. Isn't it easier to just remember to remove it prior to starting ? :D

Yes I was kidding. I received it about 3 days after I sent my money order. I didn't want this post to be any kind of bad advertising for you, so I will post a couple pics here of your cover in use...
