What do you guys think of the B&M megablowers.
I have seen a few of them for sale with carbs ready to go for about 3 grand. Is that the way to go if I want to minimize the trouble of finding a 8-71 with carbs, etc.

I have a 420 that I got for a great price, and it works great, but if I was starting from scratch, I'd go woth a Blower Shop 8-71.

What kind of horsepower should I expect from the megablower setup. I would like to have a reliable no hassle setup. Is a superchiller needed to maximize power, and increase engine life?

I have 878 horsepower. 7 pounds boost, 34 degrees advance with 9.3 CR. Set up like this I always run av-gas. If I backed the timing down, maybe went with 5 pounds, I could run 92 pump gas. Motors got a year on it and I've never touched it. Spend the money to have it dialed in on a dyno!

pf, just in case your interested, I have a 468, b/m 420, merlin heads, crane roller, ikonel, that i ran about 93 in my carrera elite with an arneson drive. Good package. I ran 5lbs boost on pump gas. I have ordered a new 26 cat and my motor is for sale, also the boat was sold but I can put it together in a package for a great price if someone is interested. The carrera is an 81 with brand new interior and always garaged, Gets many compliments. One of the nicest around. kenapple11@hotmail.com

Is $2500.00 is a good price for a B&M 420 with everything manifold, pullies, 2 carbs, linkage etc.. THe owner clams its ready to bolt on?
If not, $2500.00, what would be a fair deal?

Figure you can get a Blower Shop 8-71 for about $2800. But your price includes carbs, probably $400 a piece and the linkage is another $100. If it's in good shape, offer him $2200 :D
