Changes on the way.....

Well after 17 years of running freight trains, I am thinking about changing everything in my life. I am just worn out and tired of running frieght trains here in the LA basin, and may be moving up north to run trains for Amtrak up there, a little less money, but home nights and most weekends....I've been running a hundred hours a week so long I forget what it's like to have a life...so all you guys, say a little prayer out there, my wife is from the Modesto area, I wanna take her home....heres a pic of my new toys.....

Here we are in my soon to be hometown, Modesto, Ca. Actually, this station is in a place called Hughson....GREAT place.....

Chris and I will still be river rats, when we can get down, but there are some great lakes nearly walking distance from the house.....not too bad.... :)

Awesome photos, I wish I had your job. Doing the train thing is something I've wanted to do since I was a little kid.
Took these photos a coupld a weeks ago while at the river house in Parker. When out on a dirtbike ride on my WR and found this train just sitting outside of Parker.

Change scares me...of all the things in this entire world, I am most afraid fo change....I have a nice little world down here, an easy life, but I want what I want...and that is to live up there and raise my kids and grow old up there in a place thats a bit slower than down here.....

Grew up in Merced myself, down the road a bit from Modesto, youll find plenty of water in the area to keep you happy. Huge train yard up here in Roseville too :wink:
