I put together a budget small block 400 just to get the boat in the water, 12.5:1 TRW de-beamed shot peened rods and a steel crank nothing fancy, on top I have camel bump 461 casting 2.02/1.60 crane rollers then a Edallbrock torquer II and holley 750 dbl which might be over kill but I had it laying around, I haven’t decided on ignition yet but probably HEI to start, does anyone have any ideas on a cam, I have a comp 292 I took out of my car but I think the RPM range might be to high. I’m thinking 6500rpm sounds about right, if that doesn’t keep me happy for the season I’m parking the car and robbing the good shit. I put together the short block with heads for under $1300cdn not sure but 400hp sounds nice but probably under. Blower motor in the cards for next season. Here’s a pic of project Hondo.......click here (http://www.v-driveboat.com/gallery.php?action=viewphoto&photoid=607)

I am running a blown 350 Chevy. Dyno'd at 758 HP and 630 lbs torque - but that was with the roller/hydraulic cam and redlined at 7800 RPM. Running 12 lbs boost with dual Holley HP 1000's.
In the process of having it rebuilt with solid tappet and will have a redline of 6500. New aluminum heads from New Zealand. 8.5 : 1 compression. Shooting for same boost, but will be running an intercooler. Should be in the same range of HP - dyno will tell.
Boat is fairly fast but not super quick as the hull weighs 1000 lbs bare - Heavy Mandella marathon boat. Don't know how fast either as I have not had the boat set up right yet. Just had the bottom blue printed and am moving the motor forward. It ran 85 pretty easily but got scary over 90.
My plan is to run the 350 for only a short time as I have a Hemi 528 project in the works.
Anyone want to buy a fresh blown mouse with 0 hours?? I have a little more than $6K into this mouse.
