I am working on the motor for my 21' eliminator jet, now I bought it with no motor and have never had it in the water yet so I do not know where my peak rpm's are at and what I should set the motor up for.
The pump is a berk JG with a ride plate, shoe, diverter and ( A) impeller.
The pump is tight with only 10 hours on it.
I am looking at intake, cam combos and am really getting confused, anyone have a good combo for a 454?
The motor is stock bore right now and has a cast 4" stroke crank
heads are large oval and I am going to switch valves to 2.19''/1.88'' stainless type.
Anyone guess with about 500hp what rpms I would be at?
Or better yet tell me your setup and I could reference off it?
I just need a starting point.:D

Can't help you with specifics, but it would help others who are more knowledgeable on jet boat performance to know if you boat is a 21' V-bottom, or a 21' Daytona tunnel.

Jer's JPC says 5412 with 500hp and a Berkeley A. The type of hull really doesn't make any difference when it comes to what RPM you will turn. 500hp will turn a Bekeley A the same rpm on pretty much any hull.

I just had my pump freshened up, 468bbc, 871 blower, same pump specs as yours, estimating 650-700 hp. Took it out yesterday and spun between 5900-6000 rpm wit 6lbs of boost. GPS said 86 mph. Hope that helps. BTW, its for sale.

so what parts, if any, do you already have?
how much are you planning or willing to spend?
