I HAD ANOTHER QUESTION. WHEN/IF I PUT A WEDGE IN, WILL IT SCREW UP HOW THE PUMP IS CONNECTED TO THE RIDE PLATE? IT SEEMS THAT THE ADDED LENGTH OF THE WEDGE MIGHT THROW OFF THE GEOMETRY...

What Do The 18 & 24 Mean, And Which Do I Want?
The 18 and the 24 are the threads per inch.
You want the 5/16 18 which is coarse thread.
I don't know what grade of stainless they have in the Mcmasterbaters book but I would suggest getting a 3' length of grade 8 threaded rod from a local supply house and hack saw it to the lengths you need. You will end up with the bottom studs being longer than the top ones to accommodate different wedgies.
The grade 8 material will be stronger than most stainless.

If your going to run wedges then you need to make sure that the bolts/studs are bent up a little. When I use stainless allthread, I first clean the hols with a tap and oil. Then I screw the all thread in by hand. Next, I add the wedge and measure accordingly. Then I use a die grinder to cut the allthreads down. Make sre that you have nuts on the all thread so you can unscrew them to rethread them;) Let me know if you need any help;)

Good catch, wedging the pump might make it so that your turnbuckles will bind on the studs and wont let the moutning ears pull all the way on. If that is the case you have 3 options. The easiest would be to enlarge the holes in the mounting ears if there is enough material to safely do so. This will allow you to overcome the agularity issue, but you'll probably need to re-adjust your ride plate to ensure its where you have it now.
The second solution would be to mount the turnbuckes with angle so that the mounting slots on the turnbuckles are parallel to the running surface of the boat. This will allow the turnbuckle to articulate on that plane and would allow you to add and remove wedge without issue, though again, changes in wedge may change your ride plate angle.
The third option would be to ditch the ears and buckles and go to a cradle/yoke type setup. You can buy cast cradles/yokes from American Turbine through Rex or the other online dealers. This wold resolve the problem entirely and allow you to wedge the boat up down and all around without affecting your ride plate geometry.
