I have a jack plate for my evinrude 225 HP , now i am trying to improve the top speed , what is the better position to going very fast , my boat is a Campanilli Carabana 18 feet, weight: 850 kg, i want to know if i must up or down the motor, for top speed...

Motor up, but not too high or you overheat your power head. Need at least 10 lbs of water pressure.

And it depends on the boats set up. A few pics would make life a whole lot easier for all involved.
A whole boat shot, a transom shot, etc.

Don't forget, not all props will live at the surface. It's not fun (or cheap) to throw a blade at speed.

General rule for jackplates:
Raise the eng a bit at a time until either water pressure drops or RPMs go up but speed doesn't, whichever comes first.

What I did was got a water pressure guage and temp guage installed, I have baked an engine once...the tempature horn didn't work .......( . )( . ).......:cool: I also have a jackplate guage to let me no when to stop, experiment with the lifting of your jackplate and note the indicater, lift it to the same place all the time .

No disrespect intended Kim, But, the best jackplate position will change, depending on the weight changes in the boat (passengers, coolers and gas load ), ambient temperatures, and water conditions.

Better yet inflate the thing up with nitrous and run a hose to the carbs..
