I think I saw that a few months ago. Pretty cool show. Was that the show where the old guy crashed and burned setting the record and they could not find him for 40 years? Then some guy decided to go down and find the boat. Turns out they located the boat and recovered it 40+ years later. I think he was down there with it. Cool show if that was the one. Lots of good retro footage.

I didn't see anything that made reference to a discovery of any boats or bodies. The majority of the wrecks resulted in no bodies found, and they presumed that the bodies disinigrated....

Old Lavey,
You're thinking of Donald Campbell who died on his backup run trying to set the water record in 1967 (I think) Ken Warby, the current record holder is supposed to be putting together an attempt to beat his own record. Another Englishman is also trying and plans to do it on the same lake Campbell perished on. Check out English attempt (http://www.quicksilver-wsr.co.uk/)

Man those pictures are kind of morbid, cool to see, but when you think about what happened..... I guess Campbell's last words when he was going over was "She's going, she's going" Man, to realize that at that moment. Those water speed record guys are nuts! :eek!:

My dad had the world record in TBF Hydro for quite a few years in the 60's (Boat Citation). He crashed in 1966 at Lake Oroville,
Sacramento his body was the first thing to cross the timing lights and was clocked doing (bouncing) across the water at 167 mph. And lived through it (thank god) no capsules in those days, after that Don Prudohme drove the Citation II the first time and crashed his first (and last time) in a drag boat. So I could tell all kinds of stories. PS Proud of my DAD . (No longer with us)
