quiet riot
04-02-2004, 08:58 PM
Boat name is quiet riot. Never had a name on the boat until we went to a couple drags with it. Everybody talked about how quiet it was cause all the drag boats have open headers or zoomies and I got thru transom exhaust with mufflers cause I use my boat for a lot of other stuff. I took a few peeps for rides at the races and they said my boat was a riot to ride in cause it comes outta the hole so hard and turns on rails (not a big speed demon though.) Use it as a screen names so I don't forget.

The truth about "FM"...
"Fido" is a nick name a good friend gave me (11 years ago), as a joke. When I was pregnant with my son (7 years ago) we got the internet and for my very first screen name I tacked "mom" onto "Fido" and became "Fidomom". Some of my friends shortened Fidomom to "FM" in an on-line chat one night (cuz they didn't feel like typing out the full thing) and it stuck. I still go by Fidomom often but I've become lazy like them ... I'm definitely FM now. I even answer to it on the phone and in person, too. :)

Some of the boy's and I are out on Lake Mohave, mid week, early in the season, dosen't seem like anyone else is out and we stumble upon a guy and a gal whose boat is broke. They had been waiting hours before we came along. They were at mile marker 18 and its a long walk back to the Marina, so I towed them back. Of course it was a long ride back and we ran out of beer and everything else cold so I stopped and kindly asked for alcohol donations from our guests. I explained that they could either donate all of their frosty cold beverages or we could cut them lose, go back and re stock and try and find them later. Of course they donated all of there Coors Light and a bottle of Jack. Long before we hit the Marina we were dry again but it all worked out. After the smooth negotiating to aquire vital fluids needed for our well being, the fellas started to call me the River Pirate.

Also, when I got divorced, I used to punch the clown http://www.***boat.com/image_center/data/520/536tosser.gif ten times a day.

Coughlin's Law
It's from that lame movie with Tom Cruise (Cocktail).
The guy that was the main bartender was named Coughlin.
One night, I was making my wife's cousin Christina a drink and I'm shaking the martini shaker, poured the drink and she took one sip and she said "Yer ****ing Coughlin man!"
It's kind of stuck with me. I make a mean Blue Margarita.

Scream
The shortened name of my new baby. My family is in the poultry business, so some friends were trying to help me with graphics and a name for the boat...Then it struck me...I don't wanna be a turkey all my life. Why not have an honest to goodness midlife crisis all to myself without all the councelling. So I pictured a boat with a Screaming Flaming skull on the side and named it It's a Scream.
No, really, it's the truth...

Of course it was a long ride back and we ran out of beer and everything else cold, so I stopped and kindly asked for alcohol donations from our guests. And so it goes..........

Trouble No More is a old blues song by Muddy Waters.
I like the blues so it works for me.

Rexone

I'm lead janitor at Rex Marine. Hence Rexone. Now I mostly train junior broom pushers and hold special seminars on toilet brushing within the co. It's turned into a pretty prestigious position, I even host a feather dusting class on Thursdays. A clean shelf is a happy shelf is my motto and I make sure all the junior janitors get the message loud and clear.
Whenever someone has a toilet problem they just call out "Rexone, plunger needed quick in restroom 2 and I'm all over it. Man I live for that stuff. There's nothing like emerging from a restroom, dripping plunger in hand, knowing you just averted a major flood and the peace of mind generated knowing the next person on the jon won't have toilet function issues.

SmokinLowriderSS

The name of my Taylor SS (in my avatar), "Lowrider". She's low slung like an old-school chop-top Lowrider car, even the trailer carries her very close to the ground (rides low). And, with her nitroused 454 and the acceleration of her jet drive, she's a great "sleeper". She "smokes". Hence, SmokinLowriderSS.

I worded that very carefully. I read that there are pics out there but I haven't seen them nor do I want to. Supposedly quite impressive.

I used to have an old v-drive with a Mopar 413 (Max Wedge) in it. It sank in Lake Michigan a few years ago. :( Now I have a crappy Sidewinder with a 455 that is way faster and nowhere near as cool.
