This is a 1929 Model A Ford. Around here these are called Doodle-Bugs. Also called depression tractors. These were built from Model A Fords during the depression to make a cheap tractor. I belong to a club with about 50 members. We run them in parades, car shows and this year we will be pulling them at a County fair.
This is what I started with.

Thats pretty cool. Any idea what it startes out as? A coupe, Tudor or a Roadster? I am deducting show points for the seat, im pretty sure that wasnt standard issue pal. ;) We have some pretty cool old tractor clubs around here and it still amazes me how they did what they did with so little back in the day.

This started life as a AA Truck. I think from the fact it had a power take off on the transmission it may have been a dump truck or fuel truck. Thats just a guess.

My grandmother told me she once got a speeding ticket in a Model A... she got it up to 50 mph headed down hill. They owned a gas station during the depression.
She was born in 02 and remembered the San Francisco earthquake, among other cool stories. Paid $500 and a cow for their first house. Back in Los Altos, their phone number was.... "3".
I think RD or Rexone could get you some nice billet parts for that doodle bug.....:D
